IMO the Glendening - Helm - Erne line has been legitimately very solid this year.
I was a Glendening skeptic for many years but I've been persuaded over the last couple of seasons that he's actually quite effective defensively, and valuable when deployed intelligently (which, to Blashill's credit, he generally has been). And Helm I have long felt is still better than most people give him credit for -- his bad hands and bloated contract obscure the fact that he's still a pretty decent all-around bottom sixer. Throw in Erne, and you've got a pretty nice fourth line, for what that's worth anyway. |
