I legit (frank)ed this draft up. I feel like this is how so drafts go for teams, you get some you want and others you don't and when you look back you think we (frank)ed up.

Don't know much about the later picks but first 2 picks seem like pretty good value

Just sad that William Stromgren and Brett Harrison keep getting taken before I can pick them in the 2nd.

Stromgrens under contract until 23/24 - I wonder if that'll cause him to drop?

It almost always does, and usually a team that's already deep organizationally ends up drafting these prospects/

Since Nucker doesn't know either.

Only Russian contracts don't have out clauses. A fee is paid to other leagues for every player that is signed.

No problem.

Yeah only the Russian factor because they don't have an agreement with the NHL, those players have to be out of contract to sign in the NHL.

SHL for example if and when an NHL team wants to sign a player, a fee is then paid of about 240K per player. That fee is then split between teams that developed that player.

So Ian Clark thinks Canucks should draft a goalie this year and they probably could use one of their last 5 picks to choose one.

Kirill Gerisyamik (last name butchered) Who was on my list for a later round pick I just saw was not even ranked by NHL Central Scouting.

He had good numbers in the Russian leagues but did get murdered at u18s. He is very young though. Doesn't turn 18 until August.

Vasi looks so damn good, I would swing for a Russian goalie at least here and there.

I think Gerasimyuk is long gone by then - he's one of the top rated goalies.

I'd say realistically we're looking at Boyko or Vrbetic - if they even take a goalie?
I'm sure Clark has someone he's been scouting and likes.

More analytical nerd rankings from a nerd at HF, at least this one doesn’t have Power in the 20’s lol

1. William Eklund
2. Xavier Bourgault
3. Dylan Guenther
4. Cole Sillinger
5. Kent Johnson
6. Ayrton Martino
7. Matthew Coronato
8. Owen Power
9. Zachary L'Heureux
10. Brandt Clarke

Johnson and L’Heureux are my boys so I like this one, Power at 8 is dumb though

NHL central rankings, going through players names I haven't seen yet. My list will change terribly.

Watching these shift by shifts from https://www.youtube.com/c...ntheDetailsPodcast/videos

(frank) I want to change my rankings again.

Just no context to these rankings though. It's the players that scored the most in the best leagues or the dominated the lower ones.

For sure, I agree. I guess the idea is that if they’re high on this list and pass the eye test, then you should be happy to draft them.

Arizona just forfeited their first rounder, that's all.
- NewYorkNuck

My main point was only 31 picks in 1st round, so the Canucks next pick is 40, add 32, equals 72 add 32 equals 104 etc.
So that 1 pick gained, aren't showing up on some of these sites.

Problem is, list just doesn't have a way of factoring in which league compares to another.

I think you could with the PcS system that Cam Lawrence and the other guy created. It takes into account size, TOI, this that and a bunch of other stuff to figure out a projected NHL production. It doesn't really take into account player style though.

I think he means the most overrated. In the last 10 years of Prep school hockey of u19 players. There is one player I believe to have played an NHL game so far. That's Jack Rathbone.

A couple others have been in the AHL or are still a few years into college but no NHL games.

Morrow also 7 months older than Rathbone during his draft year.

Third round pick any earlier and someone is going to be disappointed.
