Depends on what's coming back and what's going with it. I'm perfectly fine if JB "wins" a trade trading the 9th.

I'm not really a fan moving it as in trading it away. I'm not even much of a fan of trading down. BUT If we did, I wouldn't want it to be further than the 13-15 range and we'd have to be getting an early-mid 2nd back or even a 2nd and a 4th.

Ideally, if we picked a Centerman; McTavish, Johnson, Sillinger, Lucuis. Then turn our focus on defensemen, there's a bunch I like between 30-75 so it would be great to grab 2 or 3.

I don't care if it's considered a "weak draft" - we desperately need to start restocking our prospect pool.

I'm also hoping Wallsteadt, Hughes, Lysell and Guenther go before we pick.

Unlike minivan, I think some diamonds in the rough are available.
A couple seasons back, it was speculated that this was a strong draft, now it is being labeled as weak, by some, because players haven't played much, or been over-analyzed as much.

The idea that out of all the 17 year old kids in the world - that few will become impact players in the NHL after they develop more in the next 2-5 years is ridiculous.

Yeah I know - I just use it for fun. I've been searching the web for as many sources of draft lists as I can find and then trying to do my own research(limited) to cross reference or corroborate with the lists. At this point - I'm hoping the Nucks target D with picks 2 & 3 - and my focus is on decent sized guys that can skate and are well rounded. So far my targets are Svozil, Nause, Whynot, Olsson, Hreschuk, Richard, Iorio, Morrow.

He has fantastic puck skills. I doubt he makes it past Detroit, but expect CBJ will take him, if available, at 5

Johnson thinks the game at such a high level. He isn't afraid to go to hard areas against older players already in the NCAA.

He has room to fill out his frame, the same as Petey did/does.

He's a strong player already with a lot of room for growth still, really good combination.

Watching more vids this morning from a lot of the top prospects. Francesco Pinelli is at Bob's 24th rankings has to be one of the most underrated players in this draft.

Another player that is a step ahead of lot of players that has room for growth. He isn't unwilling to do things ion the ice.

Probably really close to a player like Philip Tomasino. Who as a 19 year old just had 32 points in 29 games in the AHL.

Tomasino was drafted 24th by Nashville.

Been reading up a lot on Morrow, he's now on my target list for round 2 if they keep that pick. I think I have my top 9 almost finalized lol, not that it matters, but it's fun to make your own rankings and see how things play out.

I love to make my own rankings, it's to look back and refine next years rankings, see what you missed, where you went wrong, what went right.

I am only one person and there are too many prospects, the guys that are joining up together have a good advantage if they can learn to work together and you aren't including any real homers in their groups

I like the idea of Morrow and drafting the best player but I really don't like Morrow.

Will Scouch did a vid on him and for all the praise, the eye test was less than impressive. I moved him down to 55oa in my rankings. He might have even landed further if I had done a better job

More names I've probably missed from my rankings. Maybe I shouldn't have put out final rankings so early. OH WELL.

33. Scott Morrow — RHD, Shattuck St. Mary’s, 6-foot-2
This season, Morrow dominated the prep school circuit more than just about any player I’ve watched and tracked in recent years. He’s an excellent transition defender who transports pucks confidently, plays boldly inside the offensive zone, and possesses impressive handling skill for a defenceman. At Shattuck, he was an exit/entry machine who carved teams up through the neutral zone with head fakes, side-steps and cuts (his skating really impresses on its edges, even if he’s not explosive). When he’s on the ice, he wants to take over and direct play in possession and does so by guiding opposing players out of his way. I didn’t think he looked quite like himself in his six games with the USHL’s Fargo Force but he was jumping into a new team (which already had three established top defenders) and a new league during the playoffs. With some fine-tuning defensively, where he can be a little wayward at times (though some of that has to do with some bad habits creeping in at a level that was beneath him, I think), there’s serious upside to Morrow’s game.
Ben Umhoefer, coached Morrow at Shattuck: “There’s no doubt in my mind he’s a first-round talent. I’ve coached Jackson Lacombe, I’ve coached Cam York, two of my favourite players, and from a talent perspective Scott has more talent than both of those guys. The thing that always kind of held Scott back was his skating. His agility and mobility has always been exceptional but his power, he has worked extremely hard on it.”

He is a Nov. birthday. He scored at 1.6 ppg this year as pretty much an 18 year old all season.

Jack Rathbone scored at 1.76 as a 17 year old in his draft year.

42. William Strömgren — LW, MODO Hockey/Örnsköldsvik HF, 6-foot-3
I’ve talked to a number of scouts who have Strömgren as a first-round talent in this draft, and I debated him as high as 27th or 28th (I think he’d probably be a reach for me in front of any of the players 26-and-up on my board) throughout this process. Though the gut instinct with a player his height is to expect them to play a power game, Strömgren is more of a skill type. He’ll beat you with a quick backhand-to-forehand cut into a scoring chance, but he doesn’t play a power/physical game and he still has some room on his frame to get a little stronger so that he can play a more forceful style. He’s very comfortable with the puck on his stick for a player his size, which helps him carry the puck over the line and make plays in transition with his decent speed. After dominating the junior level, he didn’t look out of place in Sweden’s second or third-tier pro levels this year either. I don’t think he’s ever going to be the primary driver on an NHL line, which kept him out of a first-round ranking, but he’s got a chance to be a complementary scorer and I’ve been impressed by his ability to find teammates through layers as a passer.

If Wyatt Johnston or Brett Harrison there in the 3rd round. You could be looking at something like getting Anthony Cirelli in the 3rd.
