I like there defense. Makar is already a top 5 defenseman in the league. I would be a bit concerned about Girard though. Far to risky of a player for my liking.
I really like Toews, would have gladly given up what Colorado did to get him, (but no, we get stuck with a average #4 defenseman, that costs 5.95 million and a 3rd.)
Graves is solid, as has been McDonald, which is a nice surprise for them.
Timmins is a kid I was hoping Canucks would get, another solid type and Byram will be another very good all around defenseman.

Pretty reasonable opinions outside of your expected shot at Schmidt. I was curious since none of their top guys are bruisers or big guys that I assumed you prefer lol, but they can all skate very well and have great hockey sense and puck skills. Their top 3 guys are pretty much what most teams are looking for in today’s game, the Blues big forwards can’t even establish a forecheck against these guys because of their speed, skill and hockey sense.

Ryan Graves is a pretty big guy, who does a fair amount of heavy lifting.
Every team needs at least one of those guys.

Also, as much as I like the makeup of Colorado, they haven't won anything as of yet.

They'd be a team to look at with the expansion draft. They have a lot of good players to protect and not enough slots, even after they ask/get Erik Johnson to waive. Would be interested in seeing what it would take to pry someone out of there

Finally, you noticed I like good ones, that aren't soft as butter, like most of your guys.

This is a fun on going joke between us. I won't ruin it with the truth about you.

I’ve read some first hand reports and watched some vids on Luke, I don’t think he’s as good as QH and he has the same question marks defensively. I’m not sold

Interesting, eliteprospects just changed their rankings, and have Mason McTavish at #5, not sure who else has him that high😁

Apparently was impressive at the recent tourney, I could see Benning drafting him.

Not hard with Connor Bedard carrying your line around the ice the entire tournament.

He looks like the exact same player type but taller.

Difference being Quinn was one of the older players in the draft and Luke is one of the youngest.

Maybe someone can teach him defence in College.

I like ceulemans. Just don't think he is an early 1st rounder though. I have him in the 22- 27 range.

McTavish has been impressive wherever he plays. Doubt he falls to the Canucks at 11th though.

Pretty early and I have no idea where Van is picking but here is what I'm leaning towards for round selections (probably won't change unless Van's first round status changes. No it doesn't always reflect my draft rankings

1st round
William Eklund
Kent Johnson
Simon Edvinsson

2nd round
William Stromgren
Wyatt Johnston
Roman Schmidt

3rd round
Hunter Strand
Brett Harrison
Colton Dach

4th round
Dmitri Kostenko
Ryan Winteron
Jacob Guevin

5th round
Connor Kurth
Felix Paquet
Jayden Grubbe

6th round
Kirill Gerasimyuk
Matt Fusco
Jakub Brabenec

7th round
Jere Virolainen
Arvid Sundin
Ryan McCleary

You’re not buying the concerns about Edvinsson’s hockey sense either?

Define hockey sense, because I guarantee you your definition and mine are totally different.
You probably think Queenie has awesome hockey sense, because boy is he cute out there, when he has the puck, where I might think someone like Chris Tanev has very high hockey sense, because he can read the plays, as they are happening, whereas Queenie is clueless in that aspect of having hockey sense.

I think all young defensemen these days have horrible decision making. Watching the Scouch video multiple times. I think he is miscast in what he is and will be.

He is at 9 in my rankings, I'd prefer if you could pick him 11-15. I just don't have anyone to rank ahead of him.

I see, sorry for the Swedish reference but a player similar to Hampus Lindholm. Not saying exactly but just something to gauge the type of player I think he could be close too.

More of a complete 2/3 defender.

Quin has excellent offensive hockey sense, defensively needs work. Tanev has excellent all-around hockey sense in my opinion.

I haven’t watched Edvinsson play so I’m just genuinely curious since some people who watch him play full games say that he’s an exciting talent but more prone than other top D prospect to making questionable decisions.

If he’s like Broberg or Bode Wilde when it comes to decision making then I’d avoid him.

Hampus Lindholm has above average hockey sense so that’s pretty interesting. Unless you just mean their style of play and physical attributes

I think Lindholm is a safe defender. I don't think he takes a lot of chances and that allows him to look like he has above avg hockey sense.

I don't expect Edvinsson to be a physical defender but more of one that stands tall and uses his frame to disrupt opponents.

The way I feel about defenders in this draft and where I rank them and would draft them are completely different.

I had Quinn Hughes as the 4th best player in my rankings, I wanted to draft him around 11th in that draft.
