Overpayment but he fills a gap and it brings Tampa closer to the second in the row. |

It's only an overpayment if it doesnt work out for the lightning.playing him with hedman is an upgrade for both guys and should make both their games better, and that's why they got him and paid what they did.once kucherov comes back for playoffs,tb is a scary good team. |

I dont think 1st rounders are overpayment this year. Especially if its possible to repeat.
With that said im hoping for a miracle in the playoffs where Tampa is eliminated before the leafs have to face them :D |

Kinda agree here. It's a low first-round at that. If Tampa wins it all, that pick might as well be a 2nd round. If you could get a decent right-side top-4 from a pick, then I'd do that all day long. Savard is not washed yet. He's a good rental for now. I wouldn't re-sign him long-term as it stands currently.
The extra picks in the trade are simply the price you pay for having two teams eat 75% of the salary and you have no leverage. All things considered, other teams (including this one) have paid a higher price to buy cap space than what this cost.
If Tampa repeats, and Savard plays a positive role in that, and we resign him to short-term at a bargain rate, then I rate this trade an A.
If Tampa poops the bed and gets eliminated, then I give it an F.
If Tampa resigns him to a long-term McDonagh type contract, then I give it an F.

Sure up the Lightning's only weakspot in the starting lineup by trading draft picks that are for the most unknown, pooptiest draft in decades: A+ |

@FedsStammer91
Some say trolling is being mean on the internet.
This is false.
Trolling is convincing the audience to become an unwitting (and sometimes unwilling) part of the performance, often displaying their worst characteristics.
You are very good at this. Kudos. |

The window is open so I'm all for spending whatever right now to try to win. I think it's worth the cost to also keep your competition from getting a guy like Savard.
I agree on the signing. No point in doing that right now.

poop. McElBackup is starting. Not good.
On the upside, he is long overdue for a quality start.
EDIT : nope. no quality start this time.
Schenn + McElbackup = guaranteed loss.

Big overpayment for a 6 point guy. Was -19 until he put up another -4 last night in his debut. Yikes. |

The Lightning played a bad game in front of McBackup... they gave up multiple 2 on 1 and grade A chances but to that point they only gave up 22 total shots and 7 went in.
I watched the whole game and they deserved to lose for sure but the problem I have is I counted 3 goals and another one that I think is completely on McBackup's bad play that should have been stopped so it was really a 4-2 or 3-2 loss that looks worse due to the tender.
Hopefully the Lightning are just going thru the motions trying to get to the playoffs but if they continue this way they might not be able to turn it on come playoffs.
Hedman needs to be rested, I think he feels he has to create more and be more offensive due to no Stamkos and Kucherov but it has affected his back end play. |

There’s 67 goalies with at least 300 mins at 5v5. He’s the worst by a decent margin. |

Apparently not. I was surprised we didn't make a move for Bernier or somebody....anybody.
Pray for Vasi's health. Vasi is the key and way.

Please worst game in a long time by he entire team. Be patient. Let Savard get comfortable. Needed a backup. Vasy needs a break. Really McElhinney didn’t have much chance. Let’s be just a bit realistic. |
