Honestly, I don’t even care. Even knowing what we know now, I would have preferred to never have traded for Toffy, nor signed him as a FA. - 1970vintage
I didn't hate the trade assuming they'd resign him. The whole thing is just a cluster (frank) now.
Looking back clearly shouldn't have traded for him. Would have made more sense to trade Madden and that second just to get rid of someone like LE than to make that trade. |

Just talking to a fishing buddy and he told me the company he works for is up 226% in the 1st Q. I'm up 94% in the 1st Q. Some companies are booming unless you own a tanning salon or a bar. - A_SteamingLombardi
I have a buddy who’s wife has a “salon” in Mission. Tanning, nails, teeth whitening, waxing, and stuff. All the things Mission girls like and they are BOOMING. Making so much money it’s crazy. No rhyme or reason to it. |

I went to the pharmacy this afternoon and there must have been 15 cars lined up for the A&W drive thru, that was like 2:30. I haven't met anyone who's told me they are struggling, most are complaining about shortages of supplies and materials. |

I was in Hillside Mall (which I know doesn’t mean anything to you big city folk) day before yesterday and there is no way in hell that any of the retailers in there are doing ok.
I mean, retail was already starting to fail because of e-commerce but it’s next level now. |

I’m in hospitality, indirectly now, but directly in the past. I know my previous employer is hurting huge. They transitioned to doing take out last year, but it isn’t enough. He has tables set up in the parking lot now to expand the patio, but almost all his employees are laid off now and they are doing maybe 25% of their normal business.
Quick Serve (fast food) has been on a steady incline for a long while now, but lots of places have lost their proverbial shirt. |

How about the restaurants that don’t have patios? Hospitality businesses? Hotels? Dry cleaners? The majority of retail outside the Walmart’s of the world. People are hurting. Perhaps not in your bubble |

I can't remember the last time I was in a mall other than Fairways at CanWest. |

Ya man it’s sad. I know lots of small business owners that are going bankrupt. |

It’s not a habit of mine either. Wife had a doctors appointment, I was killing time. So few people though. Grocery store (Thrifty’s) looked busy, Canadian Tire also. |

Here’s what I would say about restaurants, given I have a little experience. If you made it until now - meaning you survived the first shut down and managed to reopen and you didn’t adjust the way you do business you were destined to fail. Not doing takeout, or taking advantage of city bylaw changes to carve out patio space, even on the sidewalk, is a death sentence. I was a bit surprised that they closed indoor dining, but not shocked. Apparently there has been a good dose of transmission happening in restaurants, just ask Mr. and Mrs. Gaudette |

I live in Sooke there are no good restaurants here, they've gone bankrupt in good times as well as bad. When the economy was booming I was struggling, now I'm thinking about holding off on selling. |

You know very little about restaurants my friend. Not all of them are allowed a patio. Also, some may make $ at 250 seats but not at 50. Do you know how hard the industry was before this BS. Sure, the chain restaurants will be fine but the little guys are (frank)ed |

Some businesses profit from the pandemic but it’s certainly less than 5%. Glad you are doing well |

I know more about restaurants than you do about finances my friend. I’ve been working in them longer than you have been alive. I acknowledged that many are struggling. What I’m saying is that if this most recent announcement is the thing that put them under then they haven’t been paying attention, because this has been building for a year now. |

I have worked in restaurants and invested in them. I know a bit my friend. And paying attention doesnt mean they will survive. Stupid comment and I don’t believe you have worked in hospitality. Perhaps as a dishwasher. How do you cut a restaurants capacity by 300% and make $. Yes cactus club does lots of takeout |

Where have you heard/seen this?
Resteraunts all over the place all taking away parking spots, renting party tents and propane heaters and setting up dining outside. Pubs, breweries, local and even chain restaurants are doing it by my place. |

Different restaurants have different experiences depending on region, town/city, location, patio or not, potential to expand said patio and on. His experience is real and I'm sure yours are, as well. |

Very true. I’m just speaking to the experiences of some restaurant owners in Vancouver that are friends. Non chain restaurant owners |

Lots of different types of restaurants, in all corners of the province are suffering. Some, not many, are surviving. Each has their own experience depending on their circumstances. |
