You really like Motte. I don’t see anything special at all. The only reason he stands out is because he brings it every game which most of his teammates don’t. These energy guys are a dime a dozen.
We as a whole complained about the often injured Tanev. Motte’s best season was 74 games. His other five pro seasons he couldn’t break 35 games per season. Why waste cap space and a roster stop on someone who’s only going to give you a 1/3 of a season?
Plus it’s time this team gets bigger and meaner. - bloatedmosquito
The "sea of Granlunds" are the dime a dozen.
Motte brings speed, forechecking and physicality.

The 2021 NHL Draft lottery will take place on June 2, TSN's Frank Seravalli reported on Tuesday's edition of "Insider Trading - manvanfan
Apparently the new rules kick in this year, only lottery for the top 2 picks and cannot move up more than 10 spots
Watch Arizona win the lottery this year. Lol |

Don't those two statements contradict each other? If they were so easy to find, the Canucks would have more of them.
It boils down to who is going to be more valuable? IF Gadj or Lind are projecting to be a top 9 player for sure, then ya, protect them/one. But if they're fringe players, a) why would the Canucks protect them for an actual member of the team who's young and is quite good for his role, and b) why would Seattle take a fringe player that can't even make one of the league's worst teams? |

That might be rare on the Canucks but it’s rather common (pedestrian even) for the rest of the NHL. |

Said they would just pick again if they did win. Would be nice if Canucks could pick top 5. |

I was not aware. Do you have a link to those stats because I would like to see how that was calculated. - bloatedmosquito
Google his advanced stats? I don't know what you're expecting
Last year he spent over 68 minutes on the PK, in that time the opposition only scored 4 goals. There are very few players in the NHL with a ratio that good. |

Have you seen what the Canucks can offer up in expansion?
I am 90%sure that if Lind or Gadjovich are exposed, Seattle will take that player.
Seattle is not going to take everyone's cap dumps, although I am sure they will take a few, with the added sweeteners, but they will want some younger and cheaper players as well. |

Motte and Highmore are pretty much the same, if we lose one to expansion, oh well. |

I might of missed it but couldn’t find his name in the top 200 penalty killers in the league. You mentioned “statistically one of the best” so just wondering what stats you are using. |

True, but when the team ends up in the 3rd worst position, they can only drop down 2 spots, so it could be as low as 6th, as I believe Seattle gets 1st dibs in the #3 spot. |

I can't find any stats with Motte being a top PK guy either. Any list i find has, Myers, Sutter and Edler as the top PK guys, statistically, for the Canucks.
Although I think Motte is a decent PK guy, not sure that would make me want to protect him. |

Statistically he's one of the best PK guys in the league. Good attitude, works hard every shift, and has better hands than most 4th line grinders. Not a guy you should let go for free. - NorthNuck
He's overall a worse version of Jannik Hansen with better hands. Smart enough player but for any more money I'd drop him in a heartbeat |

Also I wish Aquilini could have checked in on this thread last night to see what his franchise has come to. Game against the hated Leafs, who sat a bunch of players, and the fans here are talking about old school fighters and Vancouver Voodoo while the team gets whooped
Hope those cost savings are with it |

Who the .... is Joe Rogan? - Reubenkincade
He’s a B list celebrity who used to host a show called Fear Factor, where people jumped out of airplanes and ate spiders and poop.
Now he’s a podcast guy. Pretty sure his stuff has been linked in here by some of the larger Canuck fans. |
