Speculation is no reason to terminate his contract. But photographic evidence is grounds for termination...

It's an anonymous nameless screenshot on Twitter. It has to be true. Let's just forget all the legal avenues and join together in a rush to judgement.
Rape is horrible and I feel for anybody that has gone through it, but maybe seek the right avenues to heal and file allegations. To me, posting it on the internet isn't one of them. - Load Management
Two things: one, I said if, which isn't any accusation or pitchfork hunt.
Two, sometimes going through the internet is a way to get people's attention and therefor the "right" avenue. A lot of women's stories have been swept aside when they go to some "authority" figure, or outright dismissed/flipped by people put in positions to support them. The internet has allowed a voice to come out for that, and even for others to join and say "Ya, that guy assaulted me too".
So thinking that there is a "right" way to go about this is dismissive and honestly a very dated mode of thinking.
(Of course, just throwing up and believing any old story on the internet is not helpful either. Not trying to create witch hunts.) |

Sorry you took this as being directed at you. It's was directed more at Twitter.
#2 is just plain bullsh!t though. If a crime has been committed on you, go to the Police for support. Not freaking Twitter. There's a right way to handle this scenario provided there's substance to the story. |

Would be a great world if everything was taken seriously and investigated properly, but it's not and it hasn't been. Add in to the fact that women usually face more discrimination/victimization after reporting, and there's a big reason why women don't go straight to the cops. Plus the fact not every rape/sexual assault is a simple A to B line in under 24 hours, there's a huge amount of guilt/shame/PTSD, there's a massive amount of stereotype built around sexual assault and victims.... it's a difficult situation.
If you want to read what some people go through in these situations to learn a bit:
https://www.nytimes.com/2...s-police-departments.html
"In Austin, where the lawsuit was filed last June, the plaintiffs include a woman who said that the police collected no evidence from the crime scene after a rapist broke into her apartment; a University of Texas student whose screams for help were recorded but whose case was dropped when her attacker, a stranger, claimed the sex had been consensual; and another student who said she was forcibly taken to a motel and raped by three men, one of whom was not arrested even when his DNA was found in her sexual assault kit. "
https://www.independent.c...-manchester-a9587371.html
"Police dismissed a woman’s rape allegation as “b*****cks” four years before the same man allegedly struck again, it has emerged."
There are a lot more if you google it. It's quite easy, as a man, to sit back and say "they should just go to the police!" While I agree airing everything out online without truth/substance is highly problematic, sometimes these victims come out weeks, months, years later and the internet is a starting point for it to unfold and make public. |

Well said.
I was going to say something similar, but not as articulate.
I’ll add that using social media does not preclude someone from going to the police or pressing charges, it sometimes adds weight and moves things along that would otherwise be buried.. |
