Nice to see the Flyers put up a decent game for once.
Not so nice to see the derps at DOPS give Wilson another measly 5K fine for his shenanigans. |

With Tom Wilson doing the honors.
Have to admit it's not just all talk with him.
Avoids suspension. Love it. Can't wait to see how the Rags respond tomorrow night. |

It was an awesome game for the Flyers.
Puck pursuit was inspired, they controlled both bluelines, and dzone coverage was generally good. They even got a bunch of bounces, a couple of posts and a replay go their way. Braun looked 10-years younger. Myers was aggressive and effective. They got peak Ghost, TK and Jake. Alex Lyon made a bunch of momentum saves. Only thing that was working against them was the officiating in the third, and the PK... but they overcame.
It was a fun game to watch.
Will it carry over to tonight? Probably not, but at least for 24-hrs, the Flyers didn't suck.

I'm afraid the Pens are going to come out looking a lot better tonight. A lot better.

I didn't watch the game... Did we actually play well or did pitt play that poorly?
It's usually the flyers on the short side of a 7-2 game |

Combination of both. If the Flyers played everyone like they played the Penguins this year, they'd be in the playoff mix. |

It was an entertaining game to watch. Pittsburgh had their chances in the first period but didn't capitalize, and for once the Flyers did on their chances, and that ultimately was the difference in the game. The two highlights for me was 1. Crosby's deflection goal, I mean I know you all hate Sid but man is he good and 2. Joel Farabee driving hard to the net and scoring that big goal to make it 5-2. If this is a taste of what we will see in the coming years, I am very excited for this kid and his continued development! |

Agreed, and also the Islanders. Six of the eight games went beyond regulation. One of the ones decided in regulation was a Flyers win.
Every team is going to have the occasional letdown game against a team they ought to beat. That's how even the absolute worst teams in the NHL win about 25 percent of the time. But to lose TWO 6-1 games to Buffalo (and three times in regulation to them) and those dreadful four games against the Devils (of which "only" three were regulation losses) is unacceptable. |

Dave Scott s recent statements are interesting concerning the offseason. Makes me wonder what conversations have already taken place and what the plans are.

Yes, I recently posted the records of the Caps, Bruins, Islanders, and Penguins against the Devils and Sabres, and its clear that these teams took care of business against the bottom of the division and that was a huge factor. |

It just shows what they could e done this year and what they have not accomplished. |

The win made my night. I guess we are all asking the same question, why didn't they play to this level for so long this season. I'm not saying the results would have been the same each time , but its obvious they have another gear. |

If they lose to a better team who is fighting for the Division so be it. As long as the effort and compete is there.
Should have a much bigger issue with losing 3 straight to the Devils and getting boat raced 6-1 to a Sabres team with an 18 game losing streak. |

A fair question, though I think its not accurate to assume the Flyers are capable of playing this way every night. I mean last night the Penguins were not a great team by any stretch. However its clear from last night and its clear throughout the league that when a team starts strong and scores the first goal in a game, their chances of winning that game improve dramatically. So the question that I would ask is why were there so many slow starts that caused this Flyers team to fall behind early in almost every game this year? Why was this team not ready to play and compete from the opening puck drop? |

Issues... I have more issues with this team than Time magazine has in its entire publication run. |

Tomorrow nights Caps/Rangers game is fascinating to me. How the Rangers respond says a lot about who they are imo. I truly believe they aren't going to do a thing.
Which will infuriate their fan base, and rightfully so. |
