I'm hoping for Alex Martinez or Savard

In the past people on this forum have asked why some of us are coming down so hard on Patrick but not Lindblom, since both are coming back from serious health issues. From my perspective, I didn't beat up Lindblom as much because I saw enough flashes during the season that lead me to believe/hope that as Lindblom gets stronger and has a normal off-season, he has a chance to get back to where he was before his diagnosis. I recall a game, I think against Buffalo, where Oscar scored two goals in a comeback win, and showed sniping capability. I also noticed he seemed to be in the right place for the most part both offensively and defensively, and his passing got better and better as the season went along. Unfortunately with Patrick, I saw none of this and thus was a lot harder on him.

They both would help. Risto is a realistic option I can happening. They need 2 top 4 dman. Whether or not they can get 2 remains to be seen as they have many other holes to fill.

I can just see Staal for some reason. Especially if they lose Braun in the ED.

Does anyone really have much confidence in the GM to get things done?

If the Flyers really want to make a big jump, they need to be in on either Jones or Hamilton. They are difference makers as players. Flyers are rumored to be pursuing Matt Dumba but I'm not as high on him but I don't know him as well as the others. Martinez is a very good player but he is aged. I'm not against that short term stop gap approach though if they can't get one of the top players. Have to get the right term though.

Well, thats for the depth guys, still hoping for Jones for #1, depending on the package of course. But to me , he is exactly what we need, more physical than dougie

If you have to give up Sanheim as part of the package to get Jones how much does that really improve the team on the back end? Not to mention it will take more than just Sanheim.

I’m torn on the Hamilton vs Jones debate. On the one hand, Hamilton has proven to be the better regular season player having shown much more consistency in terms of high level play. On the other hand, Jones has demonstrated the ability to simply take over games at times and I’d take him every single day over Hamilton come playoff time, but he’s been very inconsistent during the regular season the past couple of years.

If you have to give up Sanheim as part of the package to get Jones how much does that really improve the team on the back end? Not to mention it will take more than just Sanheim.

Quite a bit, we have a few of LHD coming through the next couple years, and will most likely have to deal one away anyway.
And Jones is considerably better than Sanheim.

For all the disappointments of last season Lindblom was a real bright spot. He’s showing flashes of getting back to his game and was still great on the d side of the puck. No one could have expected him to be back playing this fast. He returning to form is the least of concerns for this upcoming season.

Can't remember who it was against, but didn't Oskar even drop the gloves this year? After what he's been through, to show that he cares that much even as he's clearly building his strength back.. wow that shows me a lot.

I hope not. Fletcher gave away Huala and Tuch to protect Dumba and Staal. One of the dumbest things a team did in the last exp draft. I am not sure his play is worth a 6M cap hit for the next two years either.

It comes down to the best cap move for me. Giving up assets that cost cap space is not always a bad thing. If I’m giving up a 1st, Myers, NAK / Bunnaman, Patrick, and a prospect not named Brink or York I’m doing the deal for Jones. And Laughton is a no go as well.

no idea, ask me in december. Id have no problem dealing him for Jones now. Jones is a much better player, and would make our team better, and doesn't even factor in what we have coming through the system.

My only question regarding Hamilton is that I don't think he is the right kind of partner for Provorov but that's really just speculation.
