Just trade Jarry for Fluery straight up!! After tonight Vegas will want to blow it up!
Oops, that won't work in a flat cap world!! |

If Vegas loses tonight they were steps away from the cup. Not exactly a situation that leads to "blowing it up" although I'm sure they will tweak perceived weaknesses. I do agree however that Fleury will likely be moved. It just makes the most sense unless they plan on extending him thereby making Lehner the odd man out.

I don't think either Burke or Hextall is interested in MAF and rightly so. Team Canada never trusted him and the other night you saw why. |

are interested*
If they are looking to change the goalie situation they will evaluate all available avenues and that may or may not involve Fleury. It will have nothing to do with anything other the best ways to accomplish their goals.

@Rinosaur - The biggest problem with trading for Risto isn't that he's terrible....it's that his contract is way too much, and giving up anything of value to get him would be a detriment.
In other words, if he was a UFA like Ceci and we brought him in to play 3rd pair minutes, I'd be fine with it.

The problem here is the Pens have had some success "refurbishing" a few crappy dmen, so people think they can do it with every dman.

I don’t know why D is a focus at all. Dump Petts or Matheson and you still have 8 capable D imo. |

Agreed 100% although if possible I wouldn't mind an inexpensive upgrade over Ruhwedel as capable as I think he is.
Riikola is wasting away here. |

I should be ashamed because I know and see the difference in what you're stubbornly and wrongly arguing?
Nice attempt to insult my intelligence. Coming from you it's like water off a ducks back. |

Risto is going to look great in black and yellow! He isn't even a reclaimation project, he has just played for the Sabres where everyone sucks and he has had 5 different coaches in 8 years. Still only 26, can hit, fight and shoot as good as anyone on the Pens D.

Marino and Matheson for Ristolainen. Sign Chara and Ceci to fill out the D. Much better D group at about the same cost. Get your long pants on...

Keep our softest defender, add a really old guy on major decline and another guy that is as bad as JJ but paid much more than JJ was for the top 4....ugh |

Something I’ve noticed is that no matter how fine a D corps is, fan bases always want to improve it. There’s always a perceived need unless you’re the early 2010s Predators. |

Last 2 seasons all strengths.
Jarry 11.78 gsaa in 72 games.
Ullmark 11.11 gsaa in 54 games.
So in theory Ullmark has produced a slightly better gsaa rate but is a marginal upgrade at best. - Feds91Stammer
I noticed you used all strengths instead of splitting up 5v5 and PK ice time.
Ullmark's numbers were good at 5v5 two seasons ago and even better last season.
His PK numbers 2 seasons ago were bad, but a hefty portion of that was due to the absolutely pathetic team play in front of him and the horrible PK system the team deployed.
Also, check out his win/loss record compared to all the other Sabres goaltenders this past season. The difference is stark.
I believe Ullmark will be a quality, effective split starter for a team. |

Why would they try to tank when they have a beastly D group? If you are moving Letang it should be to bring in someone like Brent Burns. |

Sully trying to keep Burns from talking to the media would be interesting. |
