Crosschecking is a good hockey play vs Tampa and perfectly legal.
Montreal in 2.
Also NHL rules will be revised to make it so that if Tampa follows the rules, it will always be "cap circumvention" since there's nothing currently in it that mentions "cap circumvention". Also the revision will be dated 2020 so that the people who think they cheated finally have something real to point to instead of their own ignorance and jealousy. |

Montreal has to do what no team has done to Tampa this playoff run AND last year's playoff run, and that is to win two games in a row. I would be shocked if any team, the Habs are the ones to do that. I just think the experience and depth is just too much for Montreal to handle. It's been a nice ride, but they don't have enough gas in the tank to win four games against the Bolts. Lightning in 6 (maybe even 5!). |

But if they played a seventh game, a Floridian team would have won it. Then the conversation would be on a different continent. Book it. |

Hard to bet against the Habs given everything the league has done to ensure they make it to the finals. I won't be watching. If this were real, the Lightning would win in 4 games and the Habs would not score a single goal. This is the biggest talent discrepancy in NHL history. Not one single player on the Habs would make it on the Lightning roster. Not one. Just a brutal hockey club on and off the ice. |

I need tampa to win for my own selfish reasons. Despite still being butthurt about losing to tampa i know too many habs fans between work and my hockey. I just cant take the next 13 or so years of them riding that pony. Oh god it sounds awful. Go Tampa! And it pains me to say that |

Tell that to Nashville. There was nothing in the Rules when they matched the offer on Weber.
One can only hope the NHL wakes up and revises the punishment they devised for Nashville should Weber not fulfill every year of that contract.

Why do people pay for hockey rumors when Eklund has no clue which super stars play for Tampa? - Eklblad
I was of the impression he actually meant Goodrow not Gourde but could be wrong |

That game went about how many expected. Price is carrying the team and if he isn't great, they have nothing that compares to TBL. |

Yeah, and apparently Columbus almost beat the Lightning in the playoffs last year. Bolts won that series 4-1

Indeed you did and I think the Lightning actually needed that wake up call. Look where it's got us.

Just because you don't understand the cap circumvention doesn't mean it's not cheating. The current rules are crystal clear that players MUST be moved off of LTIR when they are healthy. LTIR is not a tool to hide players because your team isn't cap compliance.
The issue is the league has no way to police this so when Tampa decided to cheat (because Kucherov was skating in practice with full contact for a long time without being 'medically cleared' until the playoffs and the cap didn't apply - you know just coincidentally because we're all lackies.) there is no recourse. That doesn't magically mean you didn't cheat. It means you get away with it.

Call it what it is and I still dont care. The cap blows and a hard cap is utterly ridiculous. I'd rather be able to watch the team that Tampa put together than a team neutered and homogenized by the cap.....(frank) the cap |

Hey, I'm not telling you how to feel about what Tampa did. I'm just saying we should all be able to acknowledge what actually transpired. The team ignored the LTIR rules to circumvent the cap. That's just reality. If you don't care and think the Cap sucks, you're entitled to that opinion. You don't need to care and I'm not telling you to.
But people disingenuously arguing that what happened isn't what happened are suck balls. |
