Then why all the uproar that Benning hadn't offered Clark a contract, for over a month posters pissed and moaned. Twitter links were constant with the lack of info, so no, to expect an assistant coach to be a big help is not naive, imo.
- Makita

I wanted Clark resigned, as he has a proven track record with goalies, who are a separate/unique position in the game.

I don't have the same confidence in the new assistant having the same impact.

If it was like Trotz coming in he had autonomy over the D corps, I might have more faith, but as it is i don't expect big improvements, until the personnel improves

I'd say they need a balance of both

The personnel had many new faces.

Schmidt Hamonic OJ Chatfield then Bones

It didn’t gel as nice as we would like but a year later oughta see improvement on that alone.

We'll see.
I think JB would be setting the team up to fail to go into next season with the same squad.
Rearranging deck chairs on the titanic comes to mind.

I was not impressed with Hamonic or Chatfield at all last year and wouldn't mind never seeing them again in Canucks uniforms.
I like Bones and hope to see OJ get some more games and sheltered mins.
Schmidt is the only one i'm giving the benefit of the doubt to...hopefully he can improve on his down year last season.

I fully expect JB to bring in some new blood.

Why?
He has 3 decent seasons in the league, for a 30 year old, pretty meh. IMO

To be fair, he seems/reads to have a larger role than assistant coach – more along the lines of associate coach.

I think and hope he'll be able to impact the team, but I'm not expecting a 180 into a NYI type defense.

That would be very nice, but, the calibre of players here, compared to NYI aren't even close.
Hopefully, the team makes several picks for defensemen over the next few seasons.

That Holland is so smart. Adding so much talent there that they don’t have to worry about the expansion draft and can sign their ufas before it.

Are we looking at another 8 year term?

Nice. Excellent player and a fine pickup for Hall.

Maybe Holland's three cup rings are plugging his ears and he can't hear you sucking it K-Man?

I’ll see if I can talk some sense into him. We’re going fishing together in Kalamazoo Lake next week, just 2 old guys, drinking some beers, shooting the sh!t. Is there anything you want me to ask him? Do you think he should extend Kassian early, locking up another core piece long term? I could ask him to sign Smitty again? Let me know if you have any player requests, I’ll see what I can do.

Brutal, especially when your not acclimated. Didn't see any birds yesterday, cats or dogs. Then you have our dipsh*t premier say this...

My daughter had to take her cat to the vet . 1100 bucks. The cat has slept now for two days. Really hard on animals as well as humans.

If Hughes is asking for 8 x8 then I hope he enjoys his new team.

There's probably a team that would give him something like that. I wonder if JB has an OS plan?

You mean Benning making an OS? Hughes can not receive an OS .

It is done so rarely . I have seen mention about NYR offer sheeting Petey for 10 mil. but it is just fans wishful thinking. If someone OS one of my players I would drive up the cost of their RFAs for years and years.

In general . Freidman saying Makar Hughes feel they are Chabot comparable.

No way JB ever does that. Maybe threaten one to pry someone from a team, but that's also unlikely. I'm interested to see his "aggressive" moves this summer.
