No way JB ever does that. Maybe threaten one to pry someone from a team, but that's also unlikely. I'm interested to see his "aggressive" moves this summer.

I don't think Benning will OS another team and Hughes is not eligible to receive one.

In general . Freidman saying Makar Hughes feel they are Chabot comparable.

Interesting.
Send him to the Devils.

Nice. Excellent player and a fine pickup for Hall.
- LordHumungous

If you think Larsson for hall straight up was a good trade for EDM, that says a lot lol

I side with you on this player. I have real issues with his play in his own end. I love that he generates scoring chances but the chances he gives up is equal in my opinion.

He is a risk in his own end. I wouldn't pay him more than 6 x 3 and see if he can correct his games.

Definately would be interested in Sam Reinhart

He'd look good with Bo

I would dump him asap and have Rathbone be the PP guy. I think paying Hughes 6 is an overpayment, but that is me, I can't stand Hughes on the ice, or in his interviews.
I would be Bennings biggest fan if he traded Quinn.

Maybe Brad Shaw will be able to straighten this kids play out.

If the right deal is there, you'd have to consider it.

And that is a fair statement but it shows him game today is somewhat broken . IMO you don't pay players that much money that still need to fix their game. You give them a bridge deal.

I can't believe Patrick Maroon is about to win his third consecutive Stanley Cup, the guy looks like a beer leaguer out there, I was a better player than him....life isn't fair sometimes.

The stats of every defenseman that has come to the canucks have had their stats decline. Myers and Schmidt were so much better in every category while on the jets and knights. The defensive system and structure that the Canucks deploy is awful. I think shaw could be a huge change and a positive one at that. Baumgartner went from career AHL dman to assistant AHL coach to NHL coach, I'm not really surprised our defense sucked.

Why is it that Canucks fans get all giddy about these shiny offensive players, that are beyond useless defensively, like Hughes and Goldobin?

I will wait for the "defense can be taught" comments.

Don't be so silly, his offensive contributions are badly needed! Get better players back there that can actually defend. Canucks have only had a dman who can put up numbers like him one other time in their history, a reason why they're cupless, and you want to get rid of him.....Da Fuck man

I side with Ruby again on this point about taking him off D. I would give him a 3 year deal same as Boeser had and tell him "You are playing with Petey and Boeser this year as their winger.

Use him on the point on PPs .

I know many think this is dumb , but I just don't like his play in his own end at all.

Myers and Schmidt are better than they have shown. The canucks have been a defenseman graveyard for 10 years now. I'm hopeful shaw can turn them around as long as Baumer stays away

You don't need every player to be everything, that's why you have a 23 man roster. Offensive skills are hard to find, you just can't teach that into someone, either you've got it or you don't. Get better players around him and the other core players so they don't have to be everything all the time. They can more easily manage his deployment if he's not the only weapon they have.

Yet they extend the contract of their head coach.

Baumgartner signed again is a complete head scratcher. Unless he's there to help tape sticks and haul around gear, why is he even there?

As far as green, I would have loved a fresh new voice at the head coach job as well, but for optics, I'm not surprised he was signed. Players seem to like him

Green is the head coach, the blame falls on him. Baumer is a joke and obviously has very compromising photos of Green at one of his poker tournaments in Vegas.

Hughes is comparable to Chabot. Both Have defensive deficiencies and need a defensively minded partner to be most effected, and have high offensive capabilities.
