I'm optimistic that TG sees that (he's a smart enough guy) and that Brad Shaw coming in to be something of an associate coach will help that. How much, I'm not sure. But something has to give and this is the only way I can keep any modicum of desire to watch next season

Can't argue with this. Just about every player takes a step down when joining and and a step up when leaving.

You can teach defense, with better systems play and better players around him, instead of high-priced older "character guys", he'll be fine. He's young. In about six years Benning will put it all together

Myers and Schmidt are better than they have shown. The canucks have been a defenseman graveyard for 10 years now. I'm hopeful shaw can turn them around as long as Baumer stays away

I know they are all poorly coached at this time . My problem is giving Hughes the same money as Pietrangelo . He is still learning the game and should receive a bridge deal IMO.
