Nice, one of the last thing to accomplish in his career. Good for him! - Tojo.
Don't jump the gun on him, he is going to have two more next year along... 500 wins and a Conn Smythe with the Penguins. |

Cannot express how happy I am for Flower. Great guy and great Penguin. There shouldn't have been a debate before, but this should probably punch his ticket to the HoF. |

I asked this question before but I think I forgot to look back. When does Johnsons 1.6 million come off the cap? Also, is there any good Centers coming up looking like studs? |

And now that he won that, maybe he'll want to come back and retire with the Pens for cheap? |

Yeah... lets say if my hopes and dreams are fulfilled this would happen if he is traded back to the Pens. |

From the STL Blogger on here it sounds like they're looking to move Tarasenko. I don't know the full extent of the reasons, but it sounds like there's a rift between the organization and Tarasenko.
I wonder what it would take to get him, but obviously health is major issue. He's played 34 games over the last two seasons after a major injury. The blogger seems to infer that STL would have an issue getting a decent return due to his health.
Is it worth exploring for the Pens? Maybe a deal based around Zucker, prospect + pick?

Malkin extended at $7.1M, Letang at $5.8M, Fleury at $2.9M???? lol.
Obviously he won't go that low but I get the feeling that Fleury doesn't want to get bounced around all over the place and he is the type of guy that would be excited about re-uniting with the guys he started off with for a final 2-3 year run.
If could have Crosby, Malkin, Letang and Fleury for 3 years at a total cap hit around $25M that would be pretty amazing! |

Whatever it would take other teams have more and better of it.
I'd say if they were looking to replace his production at wing they'd probably want Jakey going the other way.... |

Wouldn't you rather keep Zucker or let Zucker go to Seattle and sign someone that isn't injury prone? Then again, if Zucker I'd going to go to Seattle, why not get something for him right?
Let's say they trade zucker for Tarensanko, who do you expose now since Zucker was going to be exposed?

It’s 100% health and he hasn’t looked right when he’s played. |

I've been thinking about this one but I don't know if there is a way for Tarasenko to make sense unless there is another team involved.
Maybe Tarasenko for Zucker straight up but I can't imagine the Pens adding more with Zucker to pull off the trade.
Would St Louis take a guy who they know will be available and will save them close to $2M in cap hit, even if he is possibly less dynamic of a player? If I were them, I would. I'm not totally sure the Pens would.
How about Zucker and Pettersson for Tarasenko and Dunn? That is more the type of deal I would be looking at. |

Well that's I'm not completely sure about. I'm sure they'd like to get someone like Jake, but can they actually pull that off? The health issue seems to be point where they can't expect a return like that.
Again, I'm not even sure if it makes sense for the Penguins. Can teams offer more? In terms of futures for sure, but in terms of an immediate replacement? I don't know. For whatever some people think about Zucker, I think STL is going to be hard-pressed to get an established middle six winger in return. Obviously Zucker isn't in the same spectrum of Tarasenko, but few in the NHL are.

Yeah, I didn't really watch many Blues games, so I didn't know. Probably doesn't make sense for the Pens then.

It definitely falls into that gamble category. "Change of scenery" situation which I'm growing tired of hearing lol. Saying all of it out loud now makes it seem like it's probably a bad idea.

Cap hit is too high as well. Maybe if you didn’t have a 4th line winger making 3.5m
Jake - Sid - Rust
Tatar - Geno - Tarasenko
McCann - Carter - Kap
Who - (frank)ing - Cares |

Unless you send Zucker and said 3.5M fourth line winger in a straight up trade? Regardless, a $7.5M gamble is not one the Pens can afford to make. I think I'd rather hope Zucker can up his production a little bit more than see if Tarasenko bounces back. |

Add in a Petts and Dunn swap and pens could become legit contenders not considering goalie performance |
