Yikes those defensive contracts haha. Maybe a 1st to Detroit to take one?

The Sharks are simply breaking down, They don't have a cap problem, They have a Doug Wilson problem.

The Sharks won’t be contending with their core group so Wilson should be talking to those 3 teams that Hurtl is willing to go to so they can get assets for the rebuild.

It would take way more than a 1st to take on any of those contracts for the Wings. Wings got a 2nd rounder for taking 1 year of Staal and his bonus money had been paid. Sure those guys are still better than Staal but they have way more term on them and lots of money and bonuses to be paid for guys on the wrong side of 30.

Yzerman is almost done cleaning up all the bad contracts Holland left him so i doubt he wants to take on more long term ones that will tie his hands once the Wings are done rebuilding.
