I mean, he's had injury issues over the last few years...it's a gamble for sure. - BashCH
a late first round pick with scouts not doing their jobs this year is not a gamble? |
|
|
|
Tarasenko
not straight up, pick would be part of a package. Dont drag drouin into the convo again, thanks. - deadpoulet
I did that before?
Tarasenko gets paid a lot and has a long injury history. I'd be more interested in slow playing anything involving taking on salary to find the great values like say Toffoli in FA last year.
I'd rather draft and develop or trade for future picks than go for a big salary with ??? attached to him |

Maybe just drafting the guy highest on Bob Mackenzie's list would be better than the guy our scout would get.
It usually would be.

Hearing a physiotherapist on 91.9 saying that some Habs players will probably start the season still banged up from these playoffs. |

Fair enough, Toffoli was a great move. Not sure who could help on the left side this year that's flying under the radar.
People are crapping on Taylor Hall all the time.
Maybe palmieri can play LW? |

The season begins in 10 weeks.
Some players might not be fully healed by then. Makes sense.

Yeah...let's say I don't have high hopes for that pick.
At least not until I know who we picked and saw a youtube compilation of highlights from 2 years ago. |

Gallagher avait l'air de tomber en morceaux à la fin.

Saw the players handshake yesterday...Jeff Petry was shaking players hands using his left hand... |

There's going to be teams that need to work to get under the cap. Opportunities will be there. Best idea is to have lots of assets and cap space to capitalize when those opportunities pop up rather than blow the wad on a high salary player with questions. Tarasenko is a RW also I'm pretty sure |

At which price? I expect his salary to go down from 8M. Not sure how many years he would want.
I feel Habs have enough characther.
Hall, Danault (I hope he comes back), Gallagher. |

This could be a case of "buying low" after the season he just got.
He could easily replace Tatar/Drouin on the left side. There's no question.
Maybe offer him 6 years @ 6.5M? 7M? Is that enough? |

Adding 7.5M$ to the cap is always a gamble...guy needs to produce offensively. |

I saw him listed both ways.
I think we will have a better idea after the Seattle draft. |

With the season he's had last year, a team offering him more than that is stupid... |

I would ask the Blues to either eat some salary or take a contract back (like Byron).
Anyway, Hall might be a better idea and I'm sure there are other options out there.
C'est juste que le gars a du talent pis que je serais pas surpris de le voir rebondir, s'il est en santé. Mais oui, c'est un gamble.
Anderson était un gamble aussi selon moi. |

How old is he?
That's seem more than fair. Even if I would like 4 or 5 years a little better. Edit : he's 29.
by the way he was a lot better in Boston than with Buffalo |

Everyone is better in Boston than with Buffalo though.
But the Habs do need more elite talent up front, Suzuki/Caufield/Anderson were the only line actually scoring in the final.
I was on board for bringing Hall a year ago, my mind hasn't changed.... only the pricetag.
