I think you were closer to the mark earlier where they sat him down and said. "Look...Dallas has nudes on us so we can't get rid of him until next year when his contract expires...but we will give you the HC position and you can lead our new young rebuild to prominence."
- AdamFrench

Oh he's definetely closer to the NHL through Eakins than through Ducharme who just sent his team to the SCF.

Bouchard is bringing assistant coach Daniel Jacob with him, so that's an option gone.

he said contract talks were put on hold because Habs were busy playing for the cup. which is stupid since they did offer contracts to other members of the organization.
something is wrong with the story

Maybe Alex Burrows gets offered the AHL head coach job?

I hope the news about Bouchard is not the tip of the iceberg on how this off season will go.

Burrows would be the logical choice I guess. what do you mean by "tip of the iceberg", you're concerned a bunch of guys will be leaving?

I said it before, plenty, plenty of excellent candidates for the coaching job. Bouchard will be missed, but not difficult to replace.

I don't really know who's available to coach in the AHL, but perhaps you're right. Patrick Roy will probably have to go through there before he makes the jump to the NHL again...

Danault signing elsewhere, Seattle will pick up a guy, Bergevin failling to assess needs on this team.

This team could easily take a step back next season. That's why this Stanley Cup final loss hurts this much. It could take a while before they get there again.

I just hope they find a good development guy, and we don't get through another 5 years of "Lefebvre"

we'll see. they might not reach the finals again next year, but they could also be taking a step forward, players might be more interested now about playing in MTL

Bouchard sachant qu’il peut monter plus vite derrière Eakins

I have a hard time blaming Lefebvre. truth is while he was there Timmins (frank)ed up real good. how many good prospects did he have to work with? how many failed with Lefebvre but succeeded later elsewhere?

since their last cup, the flyers have gone to the final every 7.66 years and lost them all.
