Progressiveness is sexy and sells among the targeted audience. Its good business to use it, especially in a place like Seattle. Its not much different than say, using "US", or "Washington" and so on in the name of something. That's the business part which is 90% of the reason.

On top of that, are you actually aware of what is happening on the west coast of the US/Canada this year re: climate? In Germany?
