It's addition by subtraction. Like other have said, they can still that 2nd back. Who cares about the 7th.
So far
In: Ellis
Out: Myers, Patrick, and Ghost.
I'm ok with it. - Pelle31Forever

As a salary dump….yup. Fletch said two other teams in on Ghost asked for York, while the other asked for #13 Friday night. - landros 2
Wow thats crazy...thats how valuable CAP SPACE is now. Remember 2 yrs ago fans saying how the Ghost contract was going to look like a steal in yrs 3 and 4...little did we know would be a steal for Arizona. With 13M in space would think 3.5M to Sanheim...3M to Hart...1.5M to a backup goalie..leaves about 5M left. Could add helpful players but none of impact. We are going to be dependent on a lot of bounce back years, JVR and JV forgetting that we didnt want them and guys like Allison and Frost contributing. AV will earn his $$ next yr |

Sanheim will get more than 3.5M.

When Hayes was at his best last season, he had TK/Laughton/Farabee/Lindblom as his wingers. No version of that line was particularly physical... - PT21
I liked him with Laughton who is somewhat gritty, certainly more so than Farabee currently. I would rather TK just center the line when playing with Hayes. |

4.25 to 5.25 million for Sanheim depending on contract length.
Edit: 3 to 4 million for Hart. |

It crushes itself. Flyers aren't going to trade Allison in that scenario. - MJL
Yea, Allison already being compared to Tim Kerr |

Yeah and Provorov was Lidstrom...Morin was Pronger..Ghost was Leetch...love those comparisons |

Then he's probably doing a one year deal. |

No. Just calling out poor asset management when I see it. If the Flyers go all in and win the cup obviously it will be worth it. But this team isn't close to contending and much closer to being a cap team that isn't a true contender. - StepfordSam

4.25M for Sanheim seems right. That seems a tad high for Hart.

Then we need to hope:
- a healthy Frost
- a full off-season
- a year of maturity for the young guys
- adding Ellis
....are enough. Oof. But not impossible. - DrMidnite
As was one poster points out you can’t trade your way out of mediocracy….or sign UFA’s….You have to have your young guys produce in the salary cap era. The biggest disappointment last year for me wasn’t Vorecek, it wasn’t G or even Coot’s drop in play after what was a career year before.
The biggest disappointment were guys like Hart, Patrick, Konecny, Sanheim, Myers and their regression….was it the players ? Coaches? System? Covid ? What ever it was it sank their season. Fletch has addressed some of them but you can’t trade all your young guys….these guys have to produce. |

No actually Ghost was pretty consistent last year for being on a team that was subpar. It was the season before that Ghost played himself out of the line up and practically sat the entire playoffs. When Ghost was waived, he shouldn’t have been. In fact I believe it cost us a win against Buffalo by him being out of the line up. - SuperSchennBros
Wasn’t he a healthy scratch as well? Obviously you don’t think he should have been waived because that would mean he was not playing well. Your original post was that ghost was having a “very good year”….not pretty consistent, which I also disagree with. To be fair I thought Ghost was steady down the stretch and I was actually hoping he could use that as a spring board for this year if they couldn’t find a taker and find his PP swagger again. I guess Chuck had seen enough. |

Might be higher depending on how many RFA/UFA years you want to buy out. |

Maybe. The market is tough right now. Guys won’t be getting the raises the were used to. Depending on term but I’m guessing 3.75-4.25 for 4-5 years. |
