It's still a weaker draft whether players weren't scouted as much as normal or players didn't get to play as much. It's not just the top of the draft that is weak, the depth is just not as strong as the next two. - Glak18
Is it really though , you know the 16 and 17 year olds playing now will make a better draft? Seems a bit ridiculous.
I sure hope you don't get to serve as a witness at any trials. I bet you have lied under oath so many times there are hundreds of people falsely imprisoned in the system because of your testimony.

This looks exactly like Gerbe bulldozed Sanheim, am I missing something?

Why would this be the draft to do it? I would think with everything that went on this year there is a much higher chance of a guy slipping to us that we thought would go much earlier. - ClaudeFather
The entire "top-10" is questionable. Power is not a lock to be a #1 dman, much less Victor Hedman Part II. Beniers likely tops out as a high-end 2C. McTavish is likely a middle-six winger. Guenther and Clarke could boom or bust. Luke Hughes is a 2nd-pair dman. Goalies are never a guarantee. And on and on.

So you are claiming worst draft in years, seems a little far fetched and people are over reacting

You’re judging them as of today like they are playing tomorrow though, there will be deals for them to make throughout the summer. - ClaudeFather
Did you not read at all, I actually said the complete opposite. Do you want to see the list of players selected by Vegas? Nothing that spectacular compared to Seattle. Maybe some will say they got Karlsson though...ok, but Karlsson had enough trouble cracking Columbus's lineup. What about Marchessault, who Florida made Vegas pick while giving them Smith? NO ONE was saying they were going to light the league up or become one of the better lines in the NHL. How about Fleury, you mean the goaltender that everyone was saying was washed up and done AND Penguin fans were happy to lose him.

Sounds like you are trying to backtrack but your precious post doesn’t add up. Go do a backread and see what that finds ya . You’re saying bonehead moves gifted Vegas their players but now the lists look very similar...
No deal for Jake unless Fletch gives up some big assets...he is an albatross. 8.25M for a guy who scores 14 goals last 2 yrs and doesnt hustle..Who wants that. Just ask yourself if Jake was a NJ DEVIL available would Flyers take him???

Why are you talking like our guys were the only ones that got passed over?
All the veterans across the league that were waived last season and cleared, all the term that didn't get traded at the TDL, and now a team w/ $80M in cap space ignoring every single bad contract... the landscape couldn't be more clear.

Generally speaking, the Drafts that have been pre-declared among the weaker ones -- most every draft produces some surprises and some stars -- have turned out to be exactly that. There aren't many years where Owen Power (who is not expected to be a franchise D, but is a well-rounded player with a lot of desired attributes) would go first. There aren't expected to be any mega-stars this year. Maybe that's proven wrong. But the consensus is that the top end of the draft isn't spectacular and the drop off points between levels of prospects comes earlier this year with a sooner-arriving level-off point where this Draft becomes pretty much like like every other draft; select for one or two attributes, and hope you get lucky with other things coming together.

Attacking my character with some BS because you don't like the fact Sanheim got manhandled by a jockey. Quite the reach.

The only difference between Vegas and Seattle was that other GMs made bone head moves to help Vegas. - Glak18
But when did I state that the team drafted was their October roster? I think you're on Facebook too much and confusing what you have read prior with what someone else says.
Once again the Vegas draft of players and Seattle draft of players were basically the SAME, but Vegas received A LOT of draft picks for choosing who they did, which in turn did give them an advantage LATER to improve their team, but that doesn't mean Seattle won't be making trades to improve.
It's almost like you are arguing the same exact point to look foolish.

I like Travis and hope he continues to grow as a player but this should be a wake up call to hit the weights this summer. To be rag dolled like this by a way smaller player should be motivation to say I can’t let that happen again.
I’m not looking for him to turn into a huge hitter but those battles can’t be lost that easy if you want to be top 4 defenseman on a winning team.
