I'd rather trade one for s serviceable player for a few years than trade next year's picks for the same thing later in the summer. - GilPerreault11
Couldn't they in theory weaponize their cap space by trading for players from cap strapped teams AND get a pick or picks in addition to the player, just for helping clear cap?
Tyler Johnson, for example? |

Sabres drafted the two best offensive players in the Russian MHL league.
Thats crazy |

I completely agree with this.
The most basic rule of thumb for drafting imo is if the player has an offensive pulse.
If they don't have one in the lower levels it isn't likely they'll be able to keep up doing the other things in the higher levels.

That ideology is why I've disagreed with those that think Cirelli is going to be a PPG scorer and the comparison between Cozens and Girgensons. |

I would take Johnson, wouldn't mind Cal Foote as part of the sweetener |

The Sabres just drafted a 6’6 soon to be 230 + lb D man and the same crazy people are complaining about size
Good lord - sbroads24
I don't really see anyone complaining. It is notable, and there's plenty of successful examples of guys with not a lot of size. The amount of skill some of these guys have would never be available if they were a little taller.

One player does not make a team. Cool we got a big D, let's just draft all 150 wingers from all on out. I think you should sit most of this one out since you wanted to give Risto away for nothing and not get a small skilled winger and a 2nd round pick and a D
Good Lord!! By the way, you capitalize Lord. See, you are always wrong . How's it going with the theory that special teams don't matter, have you written a published article on that yet? |

I think it is very smart of KA and the team to go after Russians who have played a full season to develop and they had a lot of time to see them. KA seems pretty progressive.

People around here have starving for positivity. To have a real sense of real positivity is like an oasis in the desert.

Good for the Hughes and Dach brothers. Was a reach for Dach, but not too bad. |

Tampa just won 2 straight cups with an undersized forward core who’s best players were
5’9
5’10
6’10
Your idea of building a team sucks as do most of your posts

I know a few low level people directly affiliated with the Sabres and someone with intimate knowledge of their affairs on the outside. Not one of them say nice things about Jack the person. And it disappoints me every single time.
The GMs know it. The Sabres know it. The fans know it. And it was a question at the 2015 draft. - TheSabresTaco
Can you give us an example? It may make losing him that much easier if we can say, ya, but he was a grade a asswipe. |

I am interested to find out of Adams got his guys or he had to take his 2nd or 3rd choices.
It builds confidence to know these are the guys they wanted. |

Anyone else think it is kind of odd that the Reinhart deal is not done and none of the insiders are talking about it? |

Thought Karmanos and Folton were running the draft this year. |
