Football and hockey are bad comparables. It doesnt take 4-6 years to develop players in the NFL. - Mentalorgasm5
Mostly because they’re not 18 years old when they play professionally.
Most NFL rookies are 22/23 years old.
Tremaine Edmunds is the exception not the rule and he’s still developing between the ears. |

I would say it's between lambert and savioe all 3 are franchise players but I would put lambert at 2 right now - gerbe75pts
We are positioning ourselves well and I just don't want to live through another McEichel year. I'll admit rooting for loses made it more interesting and meaningful than rooting for wins that most likely wouldn't come.

New draft rules if sabres finish last they are guaranteed 1 of the 3.
Eichel needs to be gone. - sabresfan69

Why? Dahlin on large contract, power on enters level, one of those 3 forwards on entry level, depending on return for eichel, it could be totally. Fine. What are you getting for Dahlin anyway? |

If we show promise, doubt it. But never know.
I don’t think the return right now is what you want. If he improves more, value will be way higher. Wait for now. |

Might.
Why? 1 year?
Those 3 are jumping right in just like McDavid and Eichel did. |

Where is Power playing next year?
He says Michigan BEFORE he was drafted. - sabresfan69
I'm guessing buffalo next year for power.
Pretty sure only one 1OA hasnt started in the nhl in recent memory.
Why not get paid?
Or finish the season with buffalo after the NCAA tournament ends? Not sure how the timeline matches up given Michigan will be the last team standing.
I'm sure he would like to burn a year on his entrance contract. |

From Eklunds latest post on the main page...
However, the more people I talk to, the more I am getting how Montreal is indeed a big player in this and how the Habs are not at all afraid to put some serious names into the ring…It is absolutely true Kotkaniemi and Suzuki are part of the Eichel talks and it is not impossible that BOTH would be in the deal if it happens.. The Canadiens are VERY much wanting to make this splash.
As one source said, “It has been a very long time since the Habs have had a legit generational player and ownership feels that the time is now to take this opportunity.” |

No they don't but when added to what is already here can push a team over the top. |

There's also the possibility that Eichel's injury is overblown and a power play by Eichel and his agent to accelerate getting Eichel out of Buffalo... - kingcong39
Yes absolutely.
Also, getting a disgruntled jack back in the line up this fall = more ticket sales/ more sh!t show/ top 3 pick |

Dahlin entering his prime after the next 2 tank years.
Pay him 8 x 8 now.
Make him happy and under the Sabres control.
Who really knows what these guys are thinking?
Dahlin may settle down with a buffalo girl ☝️ |

If we traded with the Habs their draft picks may not be that bad. They were 18th this year with Weber, Eichel might be out a bit, Carey Price is not getting any younger and just had knee surgery , they might lose Suzuki and another big piece.
I would think seriously about doing it.

I’m with you on this
My only concern is you’re stuck with a long contract on a player you expect to make the jump to star player but it’s risky because he hasn’t yet. A combination of that he clearly been coaching but it’s still a risk.
7 year $7 million per and let’s see what happens. |

I agree 100%
Even with Eichel they’re an aging team that was the lowest place team to make the playoffs and Price was a stud in the playoffs. Plus they played in a much weaker Canadian division and not their actual division.
Give me Suzuki and JK plus their first the next two years and I will take it.
Eichel with Caufield will be super fun to watch but they’re a one line team. Sort of what Eichel played with the majority of his time here.
Sabres get a very good young center, a good young 3rd line center, and two more tickets to two very skilled drafts in 2022 and 2023…

Seattle should be pretty bad. Same with Zona. Gonna be another 2015 race to a bottom.
Sell it to Cozens, Dahlin that is one more bad year and we have cupboards stocked already. Hit 2022-23 season loaded with players and talent on the team (power, Quinn, paterka, and next years pick) |
