I cannot stress this enough. I like Ristolainen because of how he handled the whole thing. He didn't put the organization on blast, he didn't throw any teammates under the bus, he didn't deflect blame; he shouldered all of it.

Jack went on full blast. He completely burned any and all bridges he could, basically lied about an injury and was even willing to get an experimental surgery if they called his bluff on it. This guy has been a bloody tampon in the bottom of the shower for the entire time he's been here.

I know a few low level people directly affiliated with the Sabres and someone with intimate knowledge of their affairs on the outside. Not one of them say nice things about Jack the person. And it disappoints me every single time.

The GMs know it. The Sabres know it. The fans know it. And it was a question at the 2015 draft.

- TheSabresTaco

Would have made it easier had we just won the damn lottery.
In all fairness, there were some highly regarded players in top 10 that all panned out in the NHL, but none were close to what Eichel accomplished in NCAA after McJesus. Even if we were told he’s an abomination of a person, we’re still taking him at 2

What should a GM say about a player who has turned his back on the franchise, the team and his teammates?

If he does it on the next team dude is going to get his tracksuit thrown in the shower.

- sabresfan69

I think Botterill would robot the poop about the whole thing. Kevyn is actually way more transparent in his words regarding the relationship.

Dach is a big boy probably wouldn’t be terrible at 53 and is a position of need. Raty still stands out to me - a good time to take a risk on the kid who I have ranked 15
- turbo044

I like Raty too. Dude gets his head on straight and he will be the steal of the draft.

Sure, huge upside tho.

Luckily, the Sabres don't have to worry about it.

I'm not claiming I have any sources or connections... But I was on here over a year before all of the "toxic work culture and environment" at Harbor Center and PSE stuff leaked telling you guys all about it. And I specifically said it's source was Eichel. The dude projects insecurity so hard, his gravitational pull creates a black hole of angst.

I remember his first interview with Terry Pegula, can't find the video, but Terry said to him something along the lines of "Maybe we did win the lottery" to Jack. The camera pans to Jack, in a chair, spinning left to right, shoulders slumped, head facing down, eyes locked on the ground, red in the face and he mumbles "i think u did" and that exact moment I knew he was going to be a straight cancer. Sulking little bastard.

46. Aleksandr Kisakov — LW, MHK Dynamo Moskva, 5-foot-10

Kisakov has this spin move that he uses one-on-one with defenders on the perimeter that is somewhere between a cut-back and a pirouette that he has absolutely mastered as a way to create separation for himself. He is one of the more fun players to watch in the draft because he’s never actually in trouble with the puck on his stick, and regularly pulls and drags it through feet to beat the same defender twice (which will get harder against better defenders but is a sure sign of skill and comfort). He’s also got a silky-smooth first touch, which helps him catch and release pucks quickly (to shoot or give it back). His ability to change directions, adjust on his edges in control to hang onto the puck under pressure, and flurry around the offensive zone to wreak havoc make him a first-round talent. My concern is with his size. He’s now listed at 150 pounds by NHL Central Scouting and he’s a November 2002 so he’s on the older side of this draft class. Even as the NHL game changes, it’s very hard for players as small as Kisakov to break through and impact play the same way they tend to at lower levels. Florida’s Aleski Heponiemi has found that out the hard way. There’s a boom or bust element to a Kisakov selection as a result. He’s magic out there, though.

Can argue here. Gets a little weird towards the end, but valid point.
I will say, we will miss Risto toughness. We have a serious lack of that. If we are fast and skilled top to bottom it’ll be easily overlooked. Speed solves a lot of short comings. Hence the reason Sam does not fit IMO

Hey we agree

I like the way Risto handled too. Like I said, Eichel's next team is going to be watching the poop Eichel is pulling. If he doesn't knock it off he will get the tracksuit in the shower business.

- sabresfan69

Part of why I absolutely HATED Gionta as captain. What a complete jamoke. I think Eichel learned a little from that mitch.

Gionta was awful as a captain. His attitude, chip-on-his-shoulder because he's 5'6" prima-donna bull-crap got old really fast.
