I'm ready, gotta work but i'll be checking in and out throughout the day. I'm not expecting much, maybe a forward project on the cheap like Ryan was last year, preferably a center. Danault wouldn't be bad out of options out there. I don't see much more making sense. |

I'd prefer Suter or Wennberg. I think there is more upside with them. Danault wouldn't be a bad option though. |

I'll throw this out there:Danault, resign Glendening, Gagne and Merrill. But, you never know what Steve has up his sleeve. It's what makes this so much fun. |

I have some insider info......The Captain does not leak his intentions
You're welcome
Seriously, I'd like to to see Danault or TJ. Reading all kinds of "rumors", so who knows what's really available on the market. I think Svech is re-signed to a very low 2-way deal. Mo Sides makes the big club, Veleno & Bergy start in GR. Leddy & Tanguay were excellent actions and will definitely help the club develop further. Want to see Glennie resigned for 2 years....
Any signings will be low-cost, short-term deals whilst the kids incubate a bit longer. |

Agree with all except Gagne. I think his time is done. Merrill was stability and reliable minutes, responsible control on the back-end (as was Staal...despite my misgivings about him, which remain, he's a good mentor...). I do like Gagne, smart....Lord is he smart with the puck. Incredible anticipation. But he's so much slower that it takes him time to get into position in the O-zone to make an impact. Maybe he's resigned (again, I'd be ok with that, BUT....), but shouldn't see much ice time. Time for the kids to ship or get off the pot.

I'd take a walk with Mike Reilly as well.......SOLID D-man. |

From Ek's column this morning (Early Shopping pays off...):
4.Detroit Red Wings: GM Steve Yzerman only gave up a third round pick for Alex Nedeljkovic who could be their No. 1 goalie through the rebuild and beyond. The slick acquisition of Nick Leddy also adds a layer of offensive thrust to the team. Yzerman wants his rebuilding team to be more competitive and they will be. Don't forget that super prospect Moritz Seider is arriving this season. He is more polished than a regular rookie. |

Oh for sure. I laid out something like that yesterday. Yzerman has done huge moves already. Our upgrade in net is really exciting. Hoping Seider has a big rookie campaign |

Gagner and Pickard re signed - Jeremy Laura
Like I said above, not disappointed about Gagne. Would've been ok if he walked, but a really strong presence and mentor. Good move. |

I quit. EVERY name I bring up seems to go someplace else. Now, just going to sit back, relax, snag some popcorn and watch the action! |

Glendening may be leaving…. - Jeremy Laura
Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reports that the Dallas Stars have signed forward Luke Glendening to a two-year deal. The contract comes in at a $1.5MM cap hit and takes him through the 2022-23 season.
Glad for Luke, but that moves REALLY sucks for us. |
