I have not been able to find any info / rumors on Nick Ritchie. I'm really hoping Stevie is taking a look at signing him. I'm guessing Ritchie is getting a good amount of interest from several teams and weighing his options. He would be nice power forward we could add to our lineup who could add more physicality / grit with some decent scoring touch. In 56 games this season, he had 15 goals and 26 points and played in all 56 games. He's 25 years old. I see him as one of those players that makes your team harder to play against. Stevie has the cap space.... let's see what happens.
I really like the Pius Suter signing... that was my first guy I wanted Stevie to get. Especially for that term and price. |

I would like Ritchie too. Not just as a player, he’s the only pro that has a smush face like I do in a hockey bucket. Solidarity |

I like Donato. I wouldn’t mind a buyout or waivers on some vets |

Ritchie would be a good addition. I'd see if Kase wants a cheap contract. Both are better than Ryan, simply because they have potential to grow with our core. Slater Koekkoek could have been a depth option that Yzerman knows very well, but I guess they went Oesterle. Someone said Kahun. He's garbage. |

Agreed on growth. It’s be nice to get some more below 30s that can stick. Nice drop in |

Was just about to give props to Kooleus on a comment that wasn't negative, then he screwed it up. Honestly everyone, take him with a grain of salt. He thinks his comments amuse everyone and that no one else has the knowledge, insight, or intelligence of himself. If he shares his perfect wisdom be honored, its the only right thing in the world! |

Catching up on what I missed last night.
Pius Suter, huh? Not a bad move. Going to have a lot to prove, but he's young and has history w/Lil Bert so that's a bit of a plus. Going to need to be more responsible on the back-end and needs to work a bit on his FOW%. He'll never be Glennie, but no one can be. I'm content with the move; it's not like we're 1 player short of winning the SC, and very little chance of making the SCPO, so roll the dice and see what he brings. From what I've seen, he's killed us in games, has a good attitude, willing to work to improve, motivated. Good move!
See if anything else comes up today, should be interesting. Don't think Eichel is coming our way, soooooooo.........GAME ON! |

Definitely not a threat to sweep the SCF, but better on paper than last year, and improving every day. Steady pace on the rebuild, high expectation-management....

He’s possibly the dumbest person on HB. Quite a feat. |

Some folks believe their opinion/view is the most-important. The sad reality is, no one is all-knowing, and ridiculing others just worsens things. This is a blog, filled with opinions and conjecture. Some folks have some really off-the-wall ideas (I'm #1 in that category, ya'll....hand's down), but they LISTEN to, and respect, each other.
Thanks for dropping in on Jeremey's site. He really strives to maintain a respectful environment, and cares deeply about what he does. Therapy for him, and for all of us. Appreciate you being here!!!! |

Just glad Yzerman isn't spending money to make this team "better". The plan should be to just be bottom dwellers and get super young talent through the draft and only sign players with the intention to have trade bait later in the season for more young pieces. If you can add a piece that will be helpful in 5 years when this team is back to respectable, great, but if not, concentrate on assets that you can move, or will expire w/o tying up long term money. |

He's making the team sustainable. 3 contracts over 2 years in length, including Larkin. Dumped a boat-load of salary and dirty contracts, bought out guys whose days had passed. Addition by subtraction, for sure. BUT, he's made this team better, Vrana, Vlad Nam, Ned, etc... This team is MUCH better than it was before. Do we challenge for #32? I don't think so. I foresee the club improving, just like last year...Tanguay is a good coach with a world of talent, will definitely help production.
So, to your point, he's not making the team "a contender". But he is making it better.....BUT, I see what you're saying, and it makes sense to a degree. He's not tanking, if that's what you mean.
