Ben: I was REALLY hoping you would have had a poll up on this one. |

I bet the NHL investigates and "finds nothing"
It in not in their best interests to have a player who was proven to have thrown games
What are the odds that Kane has played his last game as a Shark regardless? |

Seems to me what we're looking at is a messy divorce playing out publicly. Half the guys on here probably had their ex say this or worse on social media once or twice. Only difference is they're normal guys with normal jobs. |

Yep, I don't see it. How does one player effect the outcome of a game? Especially one that scored 22 goals. I'd say he gambled on hockey but not his own games. |

They aren’t going to find any evidence of him throwing games, even as he pointed out he had one of the best years of his career last year, not evidence of him throwing games.
Don’t get me wrong I 100% believe he has a gambling issue, the Sharks know it, heck according to his wife one of his teammates gave him a gambling for dummies book, and he did his ex wrong, but she also bitter that he has a new gf already one who has her own money (Mara Tiegen) yes Chrissy’s sister. She prob paying for his Euro trip.
Also if she destroyed his career well good luck getting child support in the future cause while she isn’t getting anything now, she could in the future as long as he is playing.

A case could be made for a goalie being the one guy who could have that big of an effect on outcome. You're right though. Unless Kane is scoring on his own net late game, he's not effecting the outcome of games. Even McDavid can't single handedly will his team to victory every night. |

What a mess.
Here's the real issue.. even if it not true.. no one will ever trust the outcome of a game that he is involved in.. never.. I'm a better and I know I simply won't put any money on any game he's involved in.
Even The sniff of impropriety from the standpoint of a better is the same as being on the take. |

Clearly he was betting on the Sharks to win
How else would you lose so much money in such a short period of time? |

Unless the NHL finds his bookie with saved information that Kane bet on NHL or his games, they likely can't do anything to prove it. I guess maybe if he did it online and the info is still on his devices. I doubt anything comes of this.
As for people saying a player can't throw a game or because he had a good season well it could be possible. What if Kane took a bunch of penalties to put the other team on the PP? It doesn't mean the other team will score and they will lose but it will make it harder on his team to win. I mean a couple of badly timed penalties, some bad giveaways and some bad defensive coverage could make your team lose a game. Problem is good luck trying to prove this was done on purpose. |

-Couple of Bad Penalties, Passes into teammates skates, losing a board battle, ill timed turnover, bad line change. He's a 20 minute player, so that's 1/3 of the game he can render his team somewhat ineffective. Not to mention he doesn't have to do any of these things if the team is down by a few goals
He also doesn't have to be right 100% of the time. He isn't "fixing" the game with the mob, where they have to lose. He just has to bet and be right more than 50% of the time to make money
He could have done this through legal sports books, through an intermediary. A friend, or some kind of "business partner". That will be the smoking gun the league will be looking for
It's not like some bookie is going to take a bet from Evander Kane for the Sharks to lose. "Hey, you got the same name as a guy who plays for the Sharks... He's Black too I think..."

Kane is a D-Bag and needs to go. Send him to the NFL and call on all the activists to protest in his behalf. |

Personally i'm not a gambler so i don't really know much about betting and gambling on sports. I think they also have spread bets in the NHL so one player could potentially influence that a lot easier with a couple of actions that most people wouldn't even think about it being anything more than just a bad play or stupid penalty. |

I can see how a lot of people who just read the headlines get rubbed the wrong why by Kane. I was really skeptical when the Sharks traded for him, but he grew on me quick.
Putting aside his personal issues, gambling, general persona, etc.
This past season he played more consistent and really (REALLY) reduced the number of stupid penalties he was notorious for. I gotta give kudos to the guy given the issues he was dealing with off the ice.
As far as the rumors of some teammates having issues with him; not sure of the nature of the issues, but just the fact that those rumors are bouncing around screams that there are bigger issues in that locker room than Kane himself. It's clear the team really misses Pavelski. |

Ever heard of an over bet? Play easy on defensive side and play to the horn on offensive side. Score garbage goals when game is out of hand. Do that every game and you’ll have an edge. |
|
|

He could also bet on the over. Easy to allow points, and then go like hell to score your own.
