Or, some have seen him, well before he was drafted and could see that he is a PP specialist and not much more than that.
If you consider my opinion as turning on a player, then you are sadly mistaken, I have never wanted the kid, well before he was drafted, nor do I want him now.
If that is turning on a player, then I really don't know what to say., other than...

It's well documented you never wanted him at the draft, and didn't care for him from when he first threw on a canuck jersey. I'm talking about the people that raved about him after his rookie season, and now suddenly are jumping on the mob mentality of shipping him out cause he's struggled under a terrible defensive team and never had quality defensive partners.
Same goes for petey, Miller, horvat. I don't think many people in the league are untouchable ad far as trades go, but I do find it funny how little it takes to get people triggered and want a player gone after raving about them earlier on lol |

I follow a few teams blogs on this site, it does seem fickle to read how the talented players get dumped on so fast.
I watched the WJC (at the games) and Hughes was great, as I stated yesterday he will be in Norris contention, is he arrogant and conceited in interviews, maybe, but really it doesn’t matter in the big scheme of things. Just like how everyone is misinterpreting Pettersson’s interview, media wants to sell their product, fickle fans want to buy the outrage.
Two great young super talented players, Canucks will be a good team this year, for the next few years in fact.
Take it from a Leafs/Oilers fan, going to be 3rd best Canadian team this year, all joking aside, they make the playoffs, they could go far. |

I really don't see the big deal TBH. The game changes all the time and teams and fans move on from top players all the time. PLD Laine Jones Domi Eichel Reinhart Gaudreau . 10 years ago size and enforcers were the big thing and then it changed to speed and might be changing back to size again.
I see teams buying out players like Parise and Suter . Teams making up year long injuries like Seabrook and Weber .
Three years ago the cap was jumping up 3 mil a year now it hasn't moved in three years. You have to play the hand that is dealt to you.
I think most people on here expect both players to be signed and they just don't want to overpay them like some other teams already have with there players. You don't want to get rid of mistakes and start a new list of mistakes . We are not out of the flat cap yet and with a possibility of another wave of Covid you need to be cautious about spending .

September is just around the corner and before we know it October 12th will be here and then all our questions will be answered.
I hope they can get off to a fast start and bank some wins because you know the injury bug will hit and hit hard by mid-season. |

The Canuck organization has a long and proud history of pissing off their best players so some fans are just ahead of the curve on this one.

We need Nighthawk to post a roster without EP and QH so we can get a glimpse of what the opening night lineup will look like. |

The Canucks can always grab another team's MTA, to fill the void. I'm still hoping for an offer sheet. |
