Thx Carol
Even though Hughes has a higher PPG than Dahlin I don’t value that higher. Hughes has a lot of improvement to do on D where Dahlin is more advanced & a higher ceiling on all around D play. Hughes might end up more dynamic in scoring but that’s not enough so at best on par with Dahlin at this point in time.
Acid test…
Yes or No Hughes for Dahlin straight up considering Buffalo bites? Yes for me |

Thank you Carol!!
16.6 mil left for Petey and Hughes? Minor.
8.6 mil - Petey
8.0 mil Hughes.
Problem solved. - LordHumungous
Incomplete the terms are missing.
Imo Hughes isn’t worth 8m on any term as of yet. Hasn’t earned that. |

8 mil x 5 Petey, NTC
6 mil x 5 Hughes, NTC - Fidel
Petey 8/9m
Hughes 4/6m maybe 6.5m if necessary. |

Much rather pay him later when you find out what type of player he is. Just like when the AVs thought Barrie was an 8 mil a year player. He ended up nowhere near that. - VANTEL

I think in today's NHL you need both. - A_SteamingLombardi
Agree but if push comes to shove it’s Petey over Hughes in my books. |

And this is where lies the problem . He is not a number 1 D . I don't want to rag on the kid but he is not a player that can carry the D, and in fact he needs to be carried. - VANTEL

So trade him to Jersey for Ty Smith. Jersey unites the Hughses, and you get a cost controlled D on his ELC for 2 more years. - Beergu

If Buffalo were willing , yes, all day, everyday, but Canucks would have to add, if being realistic. |

Could the Canucks not just start drafting solid players like Pelech, Pulock and Dobson, instead of these so-called shiny types that keep you at the bubble level.? |

In the case of Dobson & he did fall then it brings up my fave trade down scenario. There is risk in that but rolling the dice can be a win. |
