@Reuby
I’m off to Trail for Teck Cominco for 3-10wks starting next Wednesday. After that maybe an in town shutdown at Parkland refinery if it times well. After that idk but maybe the LNG but rather in the spring & not deal with winter. |

“It’s a process. It’s Aug. 12. If there were a deadline tomorrow, I’m sure we would be talking 10 hours a day,” he said. “So I don’t get too emotional with it. I go with the process.
“You look around, a lot of these deals are done during camp,” Brisson added. (Brock Boeser’s contract in 2019 wasn’t signed until the end of training camp.) “But this isn’t our goal; our goal is to get it done. There’s no animosity.”
Brisson said that they are open to both short- or long-term deals and the longer you go, the higher the AAV.
The agent doesn’t raise any concerns or cause for alarm.
Petey 3/7.5m
Hughes 4/5.5-6m |

I doubt Buffalo are trading Dahlin. If you are looking to acquire a top D then you are trading Boeser. Other wise it is free agency or develop and they don't appear to have one yet in their system. |

|
The thing I hate about long term deals even with franchise players is by the fourth year you are trying to move them out. |

lol we have a top D. Suggesting Dahlin for Hughes just goes to show how out of touch Canucks fans are with what needs to happen here. lol |

Term is the new cash. I hoping for 8 years for Petey. And regardless of the bashing Hughes takes here he was still on pace for over 60 points last season if it was an 82 game sched Get your popcorn ready... |

Cap space is the new cash. With the flat cap these teams locking down long term deals are nuts.
No question about Hughes and his ability to put up points. The criticism is the the way he plays in his own end. He is not an elite star and neither is he a bum. I think it has been pointed out over and over he is a scoring talent that needs to fix his game in his own end.

Many of the Elders are calling for a nasty winter this year, best to stay away this winter. |

This is something I think people are wrong about, he is the cause of at many odd-man rushes against, because he is caught up deep in the offensive zone, regularly.
Many on here, talk about hockey IQ and think this kid has a high IQ, I disagree, he makes poorly timed offensive pushes and clueless in his own end, that doesn't scream High IQ, not to me anyways.

Yes he is high risk / high reward I can live with that. My problem is his defending ability.

I am all for having a player that provides offense from the defense, as long as they are played accordingly, not 23 minutes a game. Obviously icetime would increase when down, but decrease drastically, when leading. |

Hughes gets almost a point per game. It doesn't really matter that he allows the other teams players to get two points per game. |
