My question to Leafs fans, is does Auston Matthews finish his current contract in a Leafs uniform? The Leafs need to have some real success, there’s no denying that. Very few athletes have the mental makeup and composure to be the face of a franchise like the Leafs, and imo he’s been exemplary. Anything can happen though, maybe cracks are starting to show in the foundation that Shanny and Dubas built.

Gary finally moves the team now that there’s no other viable option. Houston makes the most sense. If there was an odd number of teams I’d say just fold them.

There will be a relocation fee that will be hefty, because the optics of buying the Coyotes for $250M when Seattle just paid $650M aren’t good.

You ever been there in the summer? The pavement melts in Phoenix in July, almost prefer a Toronto winter to that. Auston doesn't seem to mind though, he can afford AC just like he can heat. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm not a big sunshine guy, although I do enjoy partaking in the Phoenix 20 degree weather for a week every February when it's -40 in Alberta.

I would tend to agree with this. If Matthews does not sign an extension before the TDL in 24, he will be traded for a boatload of assets plus significant cap space. What is more interesting is that JT's contract, Marner's contract and McDavid's contract all expire at the same time. McDavid definitely had the Leafy jammies.
