Why are you giving an injury prone player an eight year contract?

Maybe he just wants to make the playoffs like Captain Bo .

All players want to be in the playoffs but Eichal hasn't shown he knows what it takes like Bo has.

Trust me I know he would do it ,but I am wondering why the fans want to .

If you've painted that narrative then why bridge him?

I think he has earned a 3 year 7 mil deal. I don't think he has earned a 8 year 8 mil deal.

It is just my opinion , it doesn't mean I am right. We will find out soon.

Because he's the best player the franchise has had since the Sedins

That is not a really high bar that has been set though.

You asked why fans are so attached to him, I told you why.

I personally think it's worth the risk to go long term with him now. They probably won't, because of him and Hughes sharing an agent and all, but an 8 year contract now could do wonders down the line.

Hughes on the other hand should get 2, no more than 3 years. He has a lot more to prove before going long term.

Don't think either side wants mixed messages. Either bridge or term both. Don't split deals as they've been lumped together as the 2 top talents on the team.

Or are Canuck fans so desperate to have a star player?

Not really what I asked. I understand why fans like Petey .

My question is why fans want to give him a long term contract to someone they know who has an injury issue?

We screwed up with Ferland. OEL we will probably be dumping after year four.

Not really aimed at you but fans always complain about Benning's bad contracts and then say give an injury prone player big money and long term.

Then if you believe that don't bother bridging him either. Cut the cord and move on.

Though the NHL world sees Petey and QH as star players. Teams try to lock their stars long term.

Because we have no one else and unless you want to try and tank next year for Bedard, who else are you going to have there. At least with QH you can more easily move on from him and find someone more complete and with less risk than trying to replace Petey and his offense.

Why ? I think 7 mil a year for three years is fine for a player who plays 70 games and scores 66 points a year. I don't think 8.5 is worth it.

Secondly for the right price I would move on. It is a win win .

Question

I have the Women's Championship recorded and haven't watched any of it, are the round robin games worth watching?

Thanks Carol.

Without Pettersson/Hughes this is a bottom 5 team.

Hopefully they get those two contracts done before camp starts.

I'm not.
Pouty wants out and I think Jimbo will give Huggy too much term & money.

They're not going to overpay because they would have done that by now.
