Hopefully they can get off to an awesome start. Would be great to see Monny rebound with some offence (Upping his trade value) and then ship him off in a trade before he aggravets another injury |

BT decided to run it back with the same?!?! Do you not think he tried to do something major?? You need a partner right?! Fck!!! Thanks for your insight!!! |

Good blog.
It will be an interesting year for the Flames. They were not as bad as last year suggests but certainly did not improve enough to reliably have success this year either.
I'm kinda hoping to see the team just completely implode without Giordano and begin a true rebuild next year. |

I don’t get all the monahan hate he’s leads his draft class in goals which has some pretty big names in it !! He’s played injured and if you e ever had hip problems you would know this is no small feat !! And it’s a team sport no one or two people can make a team win ! Look at the coilers for reference! This team needs to stop with 3-4 line plugs and give those spots to the kids to let them play hungry !! Can’t know your talent if you don’t let them show it |

Sutter was able to increase team points percentage by 10%, in his second season as coach.. that means the Flames would barely squeeze into the playoffs using the traditional conference playoff qualification format.. and that's my expectation heading into the season
It really comes down to whether Gaudreau can rebound, for any hope of us finishing as a top 3 team in the west again.. I bet his wedding was a distraction - it is what it is. Did you guys see the tweet from Gaudreau's mother? She said hopefully he'll be around for many more years to come.. |

Waiting. That's on method to slowly acquire quality throughout your line up. Conversely, Tampa was flipping players left and right. Maybe in the next year or so, our 1st round picks will become expendable - I think they just want Gaudreau/Lindy/Tkachuk to continue doing well, have Monahan rebound, Mangi continue to grow, Coleman give us a solid 2nd line -- if there's enough bright spots, maybe the plan is to trade those 1sts to add quality onto our 3rd line.. or defense
We could only hope Pelletier/Zary will impress and be instant stars if you want change.

Why would his wedding have any impact on hockey? By far the biggest stressor when you're planning a wedding is money. Maybe you don't understand how rich he is. When you have that kind of money, you throw money at anything that's stressful or distracting and it goes away. There's a 99% chance he just hired a company to plan his wedding and told them to do whatever his fiance wanted. His wedding was also in the offseason.
Besides, Gaudreau already rebounded last year. It's the rest of the team that needs to step up. |

maybe he wasn't dialed in because he was excited.. relax guy, I'm letting him off the hook and staying optimistic, hopefully he comes in refreshed & totally focused.. leading to another 99pts season... |

Training camp and exhibition games with Sutter will be a positive. If I recall Gaudreau started playing better after Sutter being coach. I like the make up of the team with some more physical players added. |

If the Blues offer sheet Brady Tkauchuk.Maybe the Flames can trade Matthew for Thomas and Tarasenko. |
|
|
|
If Markstrom gets back to Vancouver and start of last season form the Flames are top 3 in the div for sure
People are under estimating Coleman too |

I’m guessing you’ve never been married. It’s not a cartoon. No one’s ever been so excited about getting married that they can’t function at their job for the preceding ten months.
And again, what are you letting him off the hook for? He was fine last year, and the team would be in great shape if he just repeated last year and everyone else got better. He played most of the year playing on a line with 1.5 players. |

Not sure what team you watched last year but it wasn't McJohnny that needs to rebound. Tkachuk on the other hand....... |

If you're going to come in here and propose a lopsided trade like that, you really need to learn how to spell.
If Ek is your source for offer sheeting Tkachuk, then you need to find a new source. |
