McDavid is going to need to pick it up, he’s only on pace for 216 points (108 g, 108 a). If Ovie is going to break the goals record (eventually) McDavid is going to want to break the points (in a season) record. |

I have a feeling McDavid is going to get injured soon – the wear and tear of carrying an entire team and city will break something if it's not from another hit. |

I dunno, he just posted his best time ever, he looks to be in great shape.
Edit - maybe you haven’t seen his new iPhone/watch commercial, so this wouldn’t mean anything to you…? Being way over there and all. |

Hah, no, I haven't seen any ads. I usually stream things and don't get ads because they're jacked from the Center Ice feeds, but right now I don't get to watch anything outside of some NFL games. Funny though that I do get ads watching those NFL games, but I'm assuming they're streaming out of Australia as they're some pretty weird and funny Aussie ads. |

Has to score an average of 32 goals per season for five more years to get there...can't see it. |

Just listened to Green's post game presser. He talked about the team not wanting it enough. Pointed to lack of blocked shots and lack of hits.
Then he was questioned why Burroughs was out of the line up. He said "coaches decision". You mean the team leader in both blocked shots and hits????
Does he even understand just how much he shows his incompetence?

Brad Hunt was stellar last night. Good thing they traded away OJ to keep him. 😒 |

Guy already has as many goals as McJesus while playing better teams in the same amount of games. I sure as hell hope he breaks it. |

Watching over highlights, nice to see how well the Canucks are playing in the D zone. Love that Myers, the great defender, is taking away the passing lane on a 1 on 1, and then decides to cover the ghost of Jack Eichel in the corner instead of making any movement towards the man in front of the net:

I'm not sure how you can pick Myers out of that defensive shi tstorm. But good on ya. He actually played both scenarios correctly. Now if you want to learn a bit more dig deeper and figure out the players who made the fatal errors you are expecting him to correct. |

Sorry, on a 1 on 1 you’re supposed to drop down and take away the passing lane to Nobody? That doesn’t seem right to me. |

Please, tell me how he played the first goal correctly? Okposo had a man trailing that was covered by 2 Canucks, so Myers taking himself out of the play by sliding to take away the pass did what exactly?
And the second goal, who's his man? Ya, Pearson comes back into the play from the box so they were in a PK box, but Myers should recognize that and survey the ice to see where the danger is, no? He's literally not covering anyone while there's a guy standing in front of the net, who had just moved off his left hip.
I'm not saying Myers started the turnovers/breakdowns that lead to the goals, but he typically makes a bad situation worse.
Also, this was more directed at I forget who (Booner I think?) who said Myers is a good defender/better than Hamonic at defense. |

That's a 2 on 1. You see the trailer ripping through the 2 guys standing still at the blue line? Why are those guys standing still? Myers seems to be the only guy back in the defensive zone. Why? |

Bottom line is that Myers was a hot mess. The whole team was a hot mess. The coaching staff is a hot mess. Entertaining game, however. |

You're too busy staring at one element that you're missing the bigger picture. It was also me that said Myers was a better defender than Hamonic. |

I dunno, you have to trust your teammates to do their job. There were two guys there. If the pass gets through and that guy makes a play it isn’t on Myers. But if he stays on his feet and pushes that guy wide without a shot I doubt there is even a scoring chance.
Anyway, not their best game. Reset, go back to work today and sort their poop out. |

Another big win OIL!! On fire!!
- LordHumungous
That was impressive win by the Oilers. They held the Ducks to only 5 goals.
That type of defense and impressive goaltending by the Oil (built by their young and forward thinking GM) should work very well as teams start getting into their grooves and the season wears on. |

For sure. But if you watch the whole first gif how the fu ck does the guy who coughs up the puck get a pass? How about the d guy coasting in behind him to support that gets blown by and caught up in the neutral zone. Or the guys coasting to the bench for a line change when the other team has the puck heading into your zone.
I kinda think those are more important details than how Myers played that, which was to take everything away but the shot. |

i didn't think they were his fault (or he made the most egregious error on the ice.)
what i will say is that when things break down, he doesn't know what to do. more specifically, he isn't fast at decision making. he kinda stands around and looks and thinks, "wtf? where's my partner? what should i do?" and then he acts. it might be a fraction of a second but it looks like an eternity with gameplay going on.
simply put, his decision making is slow but he's not the worst d out there (which is saying something.) he's just the worst with the best salary. $6m for that? gtfoh. and this isn't hindsight. the anti-myers crowd knew this about his defense from the beginning. and he doesn't bring the toughness enough for us to overlook it. |

OV is quite the scorer and to break that record in this era would be unreal...but gonna be tough as he gets older and the years catch up. It would be nice to see it happen of course. |
