Good to see Monahan on the PP. When's this guy going to stop looking lost in puck battles in the corners??? he's got to get more aggressive like Mangiapane. Even in his own end he's waiting for the puck to get spit out from the corners instead of getting in there and playing his support role as a C |

Hope Markstrom has saved some of his magic for the 3rd. Last game Rangers scored 3 goals in the final 6 minutes and beat Ottawa 3-2.

Dear Duran², El Ecuador/Chile/Pacific boyZ, my (fantasy-)Flames made me pretty happy today, thank you. You're allowed to win in Jersey and take one point from PIT. |

Those "Two 2nd round picks" turned into Jamieson Rees, Noel Gunler and Anttoni Honka.
Oh and the Canes made the playoffs every year Hamilton was here.
It worked out pretty well. |

Collusion or not it just highlights how gifted ny has been by the very nature of them being ny. Players want to play there. Fa want to play there. Drafted players sabotage their early careers to go there. Just blessed you all are.
I’m sure you are proud of all the cups that privilege has brought you in the past thirty or so. |

The NCAA rule is possibly the dumbest in sports. How they haven’t been able to negotiate that out of the CBA is beyond me. - Hubee
It's really not a big deal. It's actually easier for non NCAA players to force their way on to the team of their choosing. Teams are also well aware of the risk of drafting college players who are more than a year away. That's a big reason Fox fell to the Flames in the first place. |

From Wes Gilbertson: ".....It seems a lot of fans would sacrifice this season to acquire an elite centre (Eichel) who should have plenty of prime years ahead, but are ownership and the GM willing to risk turning this winter into a write-off, especially after this promising start?....."
Losing is one thing but purposely risking the whole year when the future is finally looking more promising than it has for a long time for a trade that might never turn out is not the way most successful businesses operate. And given Treliving's situation, gutsy wouldn't begin to describe his part in such a gamble.
"Mango" has 10 goals in his past 9 regular season games. He leads the team in % of shots that go on net. (JG is 17th ) If he can keep it up will he start getting serious consideration for a letter?
Gudbransen now has some of the best advanced stats on the team. Believe it or not.
Fun fact: Trash talking by Ranger fans could be explained by the fact that NYC generates more trash - by far - than any other major city in the world. (Look it up.) |

I think this is a big fact people forget...everyone suspected he wanted to go to NY and that is why they got him so late in the first place.
He is good but the Norris is a one off IMO...last season was weird. They played the Flyers like 5 times when they were covid ridden and their goaltending was historically bad. Really padded the stats.
also, Flames made him look like a dumbass tonight lol
Lucic and Coleman made him look like a peewee player

I appreciate you doing the homework for me on that! Was considering digging through the Wikipedia for who they took.
Figured Bingo would have something to say about it. Rees looks like an interesting cat. Missed out on almost a whole season with the OHL COVID situation, but Brind’amour is a fan of his intangibles. High praise from the King of Intangibles. |

Still trying to figure what the (frank) that was that we just watched!
Props to your boys for taking it to us. But man, I was hoping for a great game between two teams playing well. Instead, we came out and basically hung ourselves up like a punching bag at center ice.
Here's hoping for a better contest out west soon!! |

I respectfully disagree.
The Covid-season argument could be thrown out against any player that won an award last season. But Fox is a special player. He only gets props for his offense, but his instincts are elite everywhere on the ice.
I can't remember whether another Dman ever won the Norris in his 2nd season, but there can't be many. He will have at least one more in the future.
I'll certainly give you the fact that he didn't really look like it last night. But, that was an anomaly. |

Yeah, who would've thought that a guy playing with Huberdeau and Tippett would have more points than a guy with a bum hip playing on a line with Lewis and Lucic? |

You just don't stop. The Flames are looking as good as they've looked in years, and you still have to whine about something.
