So, Buffalo gives up their best scoring centre for a 25 year old (injured) winger that scores 20+ with a stacked team, plus a guy that seems solid, but more of a worker bee at WJC, plus a possible late 1st. It's deals like this that keeps VGK near the top of the league and other like Ottawa and Buffalo near the bottom. Maybe this works out for Buffalo, but the team need is still a #1C.

Perfect take. Glad it's over, but it's too bad it happened in the first place. It's tough to trade the best player and win, but I'm okay with the return since this is a case of addition via subtraction as well.

I'm happy with the trade but also sad that we lost a generational player for reasons that could've been avoided.

As for the cap floor, we now have Tuck & Krebs helping meet that number. Do you guys think Krebs will get sent back down to Roch (at some point)? We obviously need his celery so we'd need to make a roster move, correct?

No it won’t. You know that around here 😂. I have also said that I hope that I’m wrong. I care more about the Sabres being good then being right. Rossi is also looking good in the A though… just saying.

Give it time. Vegas still got the best player in this deal. Unless something goes tragically wrong with Eichel's surgery, he'll essentially be better than any deadline pickup they can get for the Golden Knights. They'll be a machine come playoff time.
