jack is a bad man...that said, he came close to playing a full 82-game seasons twice (81 and 77 games) while also missing 21 and 15 games in between those two seasons...he was down-right dominant in 2019-20 with 36+42 in 68 games...
he's certainly capable of those numbers |

It isn't like Mathews is a power play specialist. Again, nobody ever said Jack was better than average defensively. Mathews is the second best player in the league and it isn't even up for debate.

Doubt they would trade him for the second though, seems to be a decently high prospect ready to break through. Call NYR, and see if one of Nils or Schneider could be had for a LHD swap. Might help both orgs. |

The premise was that Derek Roy had a better career because he was on a team that made the playoffs and Eichel didn't. Derek Roy was on a better team with a better roster. Jack and Sam were 1st and 2nd year players on the teams that you referenced.
