Hmm what to say.

A bad day for sabres fans overall. A great player that was a fan favourite is leaving town, and it was ugly.

That is never a good trade.

But we knew that was coming, so now we can only measure how well we did in the return. For many many months we heard that 3-4 first round level assets was an absurd asking price. That no one was offering their best prospect. And Adams held out. He got his three first rounders (Tuch is easily worth a first when healthy), he got the elite prospect from the other organization, and he didn't retain any salary which might be the difference in adding a 5mil player 2 years from now. He hit on every note.

Think about this fun thought: You need three good centres to compete in this league. The sabres only need three of Cozens, Quinn, Mittelstadt, Thompson, Krebs, and Asplund to work out to be strong down the middle.

Good post. My concern going forward is that we will have a metric crap ton of middle 6 forwards and we will end up looking for elite talent in 2 or 3 years.

To be fair, ownership hasn't said a thing about the team in general once things went south a few years ago
