Vegas has pulled highway robbery on teams across the league since the expansion draft
It’s incredible that they have possibly 3 of the best 20 players in the league and they are a 5 year old franchise - sbroads24
Vegas has to shed at least 1 very important piece next year though, possibly even this year. |

In 2yrs they won't be able to build a team around them. |

Now that their careers are over, who was the better Buffalo Sabre: Derek Roy or Jack eichel?
I submit the last Saber team to make the playoffs was led by Derek Roy and it featured less talent than a Jack Eichel team which finished in the bottom of the league. - lacaprup

Which is why I said this deal doesn’t make sense. Vegas in cap hell now worse than any other team. And all the big contracts have NMC/NTC clauses. |

Gm turnover is so quick in they won't even have to deal with the ramifications of the trade.

Why not? The cap is going to go up significantly with the new TV deals.

Reports are 1 mil per year over the next 3-5 years. IIRC |

Something I forgot about with eichel ......
everyone remembers the neck injury.
BUT pre neck injury...... Did we forget about the magical abdominal issue he had? Eichel looked slower than normal and like he couldnt do everything he normally could.
Add in .... he hasnt played consistently in over 2 to 2 1/2 years by the time he comes back. That layoff is NEVER good for any professional athlete.
Even at 25..... if you dont use it you lose it. That could happen to eichel. |

Happy, and heres why:
- the drama is over
- we free up $5.2 MM in cap space
- Tuch adds size + speed + skill + playoff level compete (and ~45 to 60 points per year) for a modest salary
- Krebs is a top 10 talent who will grow with JJ, Quinn, Casey, Cozens, and Power into the new core
- we have THREE 1st round picks in a loaded 2022 draft
- 2022 to 2024 draft capital AND cap space to make whatever moves are there
- a happy locker room
- a coach who has a knack for getting the best out of the young talent - OlympusVII
Agree but said a little differently:
- Good looking core that if nothing else is fun to watch
- Talent in Rochester that looks promising
- Great pieces added today
- NO AGING CRAPPY SALARY DUMP COMING BACK
- NO SALARY RETENTION FROM EICHEL'S CONTRACT
This orgnization finally seems to be on track. Veterans can be added in the future to supplement the core once those players prove themselves or flame out

With all due respect, I don't think Eichel was the dark cloud in that dressing room.

Not likely.
NHL owners still have to claw back all the revenues they lost last year from the players.
And attendance across the league right now is absolute poop.
It's going to be a very, very slow process for the cap to rise significantly in the next few years. |

TSN:
Adding Eichel's $10 million salary brings the Golden Knights to $78.74 million committed towards next season's $81.5 million salary cap with just 11 players under contract, per CapFriendly.

I think it might have been more than just last year as well.
I would also say it depends on who is in cap hell, if the right teams are in trouble, the new commish will raise the Cap regardless... Printing money... |

Pegula-land did a great job at painting Eichel in a horrible light, when from everything hes heard, is the exact opposite. - ImThatGuy
Guy doesn't know poop, and how so? KA went out of his way to respectably paint both parties as honest and wanting to do the right thing. |

Seen him play once, still green at the time but from what I seen was very good. - SABRES 89
I saw Krebs play with the Silver Knights a couple of weeks ago and he was better than his peers on the ice. I was hoping to see him one more time before getting shipped off but didn't get to it. I am going to the Silver Knights games this Friday and Saturday. Also if you're ever up for a game at The Orleans I've got seasons and the wife doesn't want to go all the time. Hit me up.

no. He never has. He painstakingly took efforts to not make him out to be the bad guy.
