Ya not a great return from what was/is a franchise player IMO. I remember buffalo fans thinking Eichel was on par with Matthews, heck some buff fans wanted Marner for Eichel. I honestly thought the sabres would more, this doesnt seem like a lot.
But if you guys are happy, I guess thats all that matters. - Fakepartofme
We hoped Eichel was on par with Mathews but he wasn't. Nothing wrong with that - he was still a top 10 player in the league.
Nobody wanted Marner for Eichel

Put Cozens and Krebs in the Roc.
Finish bottom 5
Then I’ll like our team for next year - Fattony1187
I believe the Sabres would need to make an additional move to remain above the cap floor if they wanted to send both to Rochester, as I think they can only send one of the two down right now with only being $200K above the floor. |

There's something to be said about knowing what we have now. We've got some young pieces, got some picks, let's do this Adams. I'm just worried as hell they're now going to shift to trading picks for players again to speed this thing up and ruin it. - QuinnFan
I'm happy that Terry kept his mittens out of it by not demanding a quick trade for whatever. He learned from his mistake.
Hopefully he learned his lesson to stay the course as well. |

Let’s not focus on what the Sabres got in return for a second. Let’s focus on what they got rid of. They got rid of a disgruntled often injured 10 million dollar a year player. Not to mention a pissed off player with a serious neck injury. There is no guarantee that this surgery will work. All surgeries can be dangerous especially when you deal with necks and backs. Buffalo is in a great position to build this team into a strong competitor. All they need to do now is develop their prospects into stars. Can they do it? - c1067
If we're going that route, both Krebs and Tuch have injury histories as well. Tuch won't return until around the time Eichel presumably will assuming all goes well. |

I wouldn’t mind. With so much cap space take a one year dump for another pick |

The ghost of Andrew Shaw makes a lot of sense, especially if Chicago would add a pick for taking his salary off their books. |

Identical points with Eichel having played 34 more games, so it's not like they're some very disparate players. |

thanks for coming by. The deal is fine/good considering the circumstances. People wanting Marner was a small minority. - TheSabresTaco
Well if vegas tanks this year a Eichel may not play until late April, you guys made get a 10 - 15 pick from them. I forgot they have a lot of injuries, so it may not be a late 1st round pick. |

Good look gents!!!! |

I think we made out pretty good. Not great but good.
Krebs and tuch will be good for the long term and the picks are little light
The Sabres are also 2.5 million under the cap minimum.
I wonder what they do about that |

Add Pysyk, Adams has now shifted to the organization’s next top priority, signing Mark long term, Adams sees this as essential. |

I am neither happy or sad about the return. I actually thick its kind of fair. Vegas gets the better player, but buffalo gets the best prospect, nice roster player in Tuch, and the first round pick. So all in all I give the trade a solid MEH......... |

Paul Hamilton said (on WGR) that he expects Krebs to be on the Sabres
Guess we’ll see what happens |

They look shaky... even with a healthy lineup. Trust me I own Lehner in fantasy. If they barely miss the playoffs, Borat.

It’s ok
Being a pr!ck is all he knows how to do
I’ll just not respond to him,
since our ref here isn’t gonna do anything about it - jdfitz77
I have told you several times to just not respond, you just can't help yourself.
Go cry victim in my inbox some more. Look in the mirror. Grow up, just because you don't like what is posted doesn't mean it's going to get someone banned.
It's too bad you know your ban history is a mile long, you could have been given the ref role and banned everyone you don't like.

can the sabres take Tuch of LTIR whenever they want? So the money counts against the cap? |

# of Leafs fans wanting to send Marner was likely much bigger than a yearning for him here - stashu
After the final 3 games of the playoffs last year, I did see an increase in leafers suggesting this as well.
Oh and Im not trying to troll, I honestly thought the Sabres would get more for him, thats all.
I have no doubt the sabres will probably see the 2nd round long before the leafs do...not because your prospect pool is off the charts but because its the leafs way.
