Wow. Someone give me a new lineup...with and without Tuch in it.
Effing LOVE Tuch. He's a meat grinder who scores timely goals. Imagine being a D-man with him bearing down on you in the corner while chasing a puck. Love that guy.
This is a good day for the Sabres and Buffalo in general. Also, please boo the sh!t out of crybaby when he returns here. Never seen a more childish whiny b!tch on one of our sports teams before. - kritter65

I will say I am surprised they didn't have to take a cap dump back
They would have gotten a better deal if they would have retained salary (which we all know)
Now that this is done here are my questions long term:
Are they planning to actually add talented players to this roster that cost more? Are they going to spend more money and be closer to the ceiling than just barely being over the floor? If they are then I can understand not retaining money, if they're not and they want to go cheaper younger players then wouldn't it make sense to retain and get a better return???
If this comes down to Pegula not wanting to retain money because he wants to save money and not wanting to retain money because they want to spend it on players down the road, it is yet again another bad look for the Pegulas. Only time will tell. - Stripes77
I wanted Reilly Smith just to add him to this team

sabres were already considered a top 5 prospect pool, and that was with quinn being possibly an assumed bust.
quinn maybe figured something out, now they added krebs?
prospects are a crapshoot, but hard not to like what has come together here. - robz228
I think it was Custance that rated all of the organizations based on players 23 and under, and we were #1 "comfortably". It's sad that we have to hang our hats on this but it is what it is at this point. Better days are coming.

Mittelstadt comes back and Murray goes.
No need to move another forward as Krebs can be sent down. - kingcong39
Sabres are at 23 without Krebs. Need to dispatch 2 forwards for Mitts to return. |

Didn’t you hear about the Nelson trading strategy? His playing days are over.

He cashed out half a few days ago and pulled his bigger yacht up to the Pegulas and forced them to trade Jack. |

Made this post yesterday. I'm not sure how Vegas makes the money work, but I guess the Sabres barely skate by.
how many cheap ufas do you bring back next year?
Hayden
Caggiula
Hinostroza
Anderson
Pysyk
Tokarski - homiedclown
Outside of goalie, how much room is there? Think there's room for Pysyk or Hagg. Maybe someone better as a UFA or trade. The forward corp is basically full, even before an Eichel trade.
Skinner-Mitts-Olofsson
Asplund-Thompson-Quinn
Peterka-Cozens-Ruotsalainen
Bjork-Girgensons-Okposo
Samuelsson-Dahlin
Power-Jokiharju
Bryson-Pysyk
Johnson or extra
goaliez
Let's incorporate a Vegas trade of Tuch, Brisson, Krebs, 1, which I don't even think is feasible without extra salary moves.
Krebs-Mitts-Olofsson
Asplund-Thompson-Tuch
Peterka-Cozens-Quinn
Skinner-Girgensons-Okposo
Ruotsalainen, Bjork |

The NYR equivalent deal is:
Kakko
Chytil
2022 1st
2023 2nd
And they laughed at Sabres fans for that. So don’t let rangers fans say a thing |

Krebs goes to Rochester. Murray goes to Rochester when Mittelstadt is ready. That puts them at 23, no? |

makes me think they make a trade for a cap dump with 1 or 2 left on their contract at the deadline to get picks |

They're $197K over the cap floor without factoring in Krebs salary. |

Not a bad day's work for Adams, all told. Eichel gets a new home, we get some present and a lot of future, and the Rangers get to keep future hall of famer and perennial Hart candidate Mika Zibanejad so everyone wins. |

It does not. They are $197K over based on Tuch's salary alone. |

Not to mention that at this point Krebs is probably a better prospect than Kakko, and he is also a center. |

a sad waste of 10 years of our lives but its pretty funny how things are going here
we went all in to guarantee a superstar and mortgaged literally everything else and never were able to put a competent team around him, and it flamed out miserably
now we've accumulated a ton of mid/upper-mid tier prospects but probably no superstar.

Krebs counts fully against the cap no matter where he is, doesn't he, since he's sub-1M (and "hiding" salaries in the minors only saves a max of 1M?) |
