You have to get personal which complete exposes you. Much of what you say here doesn't make any sense. Trades needed to be made so that makes them automatically good?
What we needed was a good top 4 RH dman. Not just a top 4 RH dman.
Your question of naming some other defenseman we could've traded for is completely disengenous. No fan has that inside information. - MJL
Typical fashion!!
You have all of this insight and superior hockey knowledge on why R is bad and Frost is going to be great, why trading Hagg was bad ad nauseam with your bile,
then run away and can't even say one name better (potential trade in your feeble hockey brain) then the RR trade? Run away run away!!!
Then scream Hyperbole....

Hayes wasn't brought here to be a #1 center and he will never be a #1 center. If you are expecting that you will be disappointed. He is a #2 center at best and perhaps a #3 center on a team that is deep at the center position. - Phillywhiteout
#2 in the beginning while NP found/got his game back LOL...
Then when NP blossomed LOL he would have been a #3.
I also think Frost was in that equation too until, well forget it....

I can’t believe the chances Aube-Kubel has created for himself lately and he can’t finish anything. I really love Zach MacEwan but the other two guys I can live without. |

Who gets the most of the three; Nate, nak, zack.
I’m my guess.
Zack
Nak
Nate dead last.
The line has generated some attack time. When all healthy wonder if Nate sits and brassard is the 4c. |

While I'm glad to see that AV is not changing the lines as crazy often as last year, nevertheless I'd love to see someone else at first line right wing. I'd love to see Konecny swapped with Atkinson up there, or even swapped with lindblom (with JvR moving back to LW on that 3rd line). |

I feel like NAK creates the most, he just can’t finish. Like at all. |

The second line needs to awaken tonight! After a blazing start they have collectively disappeared. Atkinson was involved the other night, but Brassard and Farabee have been quite sleepy lately. Wake up fellas!!!! |

Id also like to see konecny dropped to the second line and Atkinson or Lindy given a shot for a few games. The downside to that is that that top line has been clicking and I'm not one to break up a hot line but once they cool off then we can try a few games and see what happens. Luckily it's early in the season still |

I wonder if farabee is hurt or nursing something. He took a hard hit a few games ago and got up slowly and he hasn't been the same since. I wish I could remember which game it was but my memory doesn't work like that anymore |

It's been at least 5 games since Farabee actually played a good game. After a fast start, he has been disappointing. |

I noticed no changes to the lines or defensive pairings, and I'm glad. I think there has been a lot of misplaced angst and panic from some on this site that push for changes at the first sign of trouble. The Flyers are 5-2-2 and I believe will win tonight in regulation. Last year we were angry at AV for changing lines all the time, well now he is showing patience, and I think that is a good thing. Players like Sanheim need to step up and play better, and things will be fine. |

In my opinion it's a mistake not to make changes. The correct results have not been there. A coach just can't rely on the teams current record as the only feed back for decision making. He can't really change the defense pairings until Ellis is ready to play. However there is some opportunity to switch up the forward lines and he should be doing so. The coaching staff did make recent changes in player deployment.

Oh just give it up already, you hate Risto, we get it! But myself and others know you are completely biased and wrong about him. Quote all the stats you want, the facts are the Flyers are top 10 in goals for and goals against. They are 5-2-2 and for the hyperbole you spew about Risto, he is part of the solution here, not the problem! He is not playing bad at all! |

I just think you have to let the players play through it. I think the younger players on this team are fragile mentally and thus a little stability will give the confidence to relax and work things out. I agree that once players come back changes could and should be made |

He certainly looks like he has been laboring at times in the past few games. I noticed a couple of games ago that he seemed to be struggling to get back in the play like something was bothering him. |

As an educated and informed fan, I know that high level goaltending while being on the wrong side of shot share % and scoring chance percentage is not a sustainable way to play nor does it indicate that the team could seriously contend.
With each post, you use more and more rhetoric and unravel more. If what I spew about Ristolainen is hyperbole then it shouldn't be hard for you to prove me wrong. Yet this is all you can muster. Ristolainen has not played well overall and to this point he is a mediocre player who has not proved he has been worth the cost to acquire him. The facts support my opinion.

You can't let this snow ball. Hayes coming off surgery is not a guarantee. He may need to play his way back in shape. The Flyers have a difficult schedule the rest of the month and if they don't improve and carry play and dictate play more, it will be difficult to be successful against the quality teams they have coming up.

Ristolainen doesn't always take good routes or play his angles right. He lacks situational awareness and tends to be overaggressive and prone to getting fooled when an attacker dekes. He also staples opponents, gets under their skin and can make some good things happen up ice. - bmeltzer
When he loses track of who he's supposed to be covering, he just falls back next to the goalie and just stands around clueless. You can almost hear the gears grinding to a halt in his head. It happens all the time and it's kinda hilarious.
