I guess I'd rather see them give a very large, shorter term contract to Letang than to trade away a bunch of those listed for a similar quality player. We can essentially sign any UFA to a 3-4 yr deal knowing full well it won't really matter against the cap. They should do what they did with Hall, again.

we will not be going anywhere with eakins, pysyks and 750 k goalies leading the charge

He's still young, it might take a few more years. Sabres are gonna need a 3-4yr established starter.

Our issue for a long time has been having absolute dud pieces in the lineup. Cody Eakins to Xenon Konopkas. We need these kids to fill these holes and bring scoring in on the lower lines. Now that Girgs/Okposo dried up we're really hurting there.

Youd again be getting the Hinistrozas, Haydens, Cagiullas of the NHL.

Some will shy away for sure. I don't think it will be major. Hino as an example had several offers, but came here to get more minutes. Hall came last year. If Letang wants 9M+, maybe he decides playing across from Dahlin wouldn't be so bad.

dont know i would say 1000% but yes it has gotten worse. Hall was a flop and then him and our top player were run out of town. Now we are "rebuilding" for the 18th time of 10 seasons with an AHL goalie and an all star goalie 6 years removed.

The .500 start means so little IMO.

The Sabres were unfortunately the team that black eyed the sport due to the CBA.
It could have happened to any team, but it was unfortunately Buffalo.

Couple that with the ultimate suck the past 12 years, the players who were thankful to get out of buffalo, and now the absolute garbage attendance.

Add in the fact that there are a lot of rumors swirling that the owner pouted because its star player requested a trade, and its not a good look.

You already had one outspoken player (Lehner) come out in support of Eichel, and id venture to guess many others feel the same.

You want top tier role players want to sign here, the organization’s plan is to draft high end talent, they need quality mid-high end players to fill in substantial roles as the core builds chemistry throughout the season.
