Statistically they seem to end up as cap anchors than long term contributors. Just don't think it's going to be as big of an issue as some. We've sucked for a dozen years, as has been mentioned, so our standing improving would help quite a lot towards shaking that label. I think that's more damning and plenty of people were getting on Robin for his latest tweets, even came back on a lot he said after talking to the league.

UPL has to show a lot more, but it might be worth a call up or two at the end. He did look OK in the NHL last season for the few games he played.

Maybe. He's played well outside the SJ game. I think it depends if he has continued injury issues. If he gets 40 starts this year, I'd take him again on the cheap if no other option is available. If not Korpisalo, Koskinen, Holtby or Campbell...but we'd probably have to pay more.

Time to see what we have either way, he should get some games at year end unless we're miraculously vying for a playoff spot. But I really think he's going to take a big step this year, his positioning is much better this year, the low sv% has been the product of piss poor defending more than anything IMO.

Yup, lots of flexibility. Have a 28 year old Korpi there for the taking if we like his looks. Not a bad place to be in.
