Dahlin is 21 years old. If he was any other prospect he would most likely be in Rochester right now

Hedman and most nhl defensemen don’t come into their own till 24/25

- Sabretooth9

No. He can't be sent down without going through waivers, and if you think there isn't a team that would pick him up you're nuts.

Olofsson with 50% retained for Theodore and take the top 10 conditions of the 1st rnd pick for Eichel. Gives them about 4mill in cap space and a familiar face for Jack
- Buff36

We have an abundance of defenseman in the system, I'm not trading anymore forwards (goal scorers) for d.

I do like Theodore and like your proposal. Interesting, is there a precedent for a trade having an addendum?

Goaloffson has been good aside from the pp.
He's an excellent passer and has underrated speed.

Stats guys , bla bla bla pp specialist

Hope they sign him long term, seams like a character guy with good friends on the team.

I do to Boss, just going of what people have said and think that Vegas trade is fair

We really don't, are LD has a abundance are RD is woefully lacking. Theodore would be a good fit, plus he's signed for 3 or 4 more years at 5.2m

If we couldn’t get Theodore in an Eichel trade,
what are we giving up to get him??

- jdfitz77

What if he was supposed to come in the trade with Olofsson going back but with the injuries to Whitecloud and Olofsson put a hold on that until they are healthy

Theodore would be a great get but methinks he is an integral part of their Stanley Cup "core". I imagine they'll jettison a number of other players to get under the cap before they would ditch Theodore.

Could be right, but they signed Hutton and extended Whitecloud and they have Korczak in waiting. Plus Theodore doesn't have any clauses.

That’s all fine and sounds great but it all comes down to Winning and until this team starts to win none of that other stuff really truly matters
- ImThatGuy

They're building a Juggernaut with these next 2 drafts buffalo has a chance to repeat what they did in 2005 and take over the depth in the organization you will be able to run 4 scoring lines back -back

The Sabres have 2 #1 overall picks 21 and 18 years old.
I'm sure an nhl 1st time.

Joker and bryson
Couple young / entering peak guys

Rochester:
Johnson
Samuelsson

Assuming miller, hagg , prysk and butcher eventually move on or extend ..

Other prospects too....

They're still a Briere, a Drury, a Ryan Miller, a Teppo, and a Jay McKee away from even sniffing that type of depth.

Not to mention the Dumont and Hecht's of that team

2 years from now they should have all the pieces + more just have to stay positive and keep drafting. If you land wright that would be the drury

If they don’t land wright does Adams end up at badda bing, swearing, chain smoking, and drinking?

Interesting plan...

I think these should be the tenets for this Sabres rebuild…

1. Don’t look for a savior, if he comes, great, if he doesn’t you can win without “HIM”

2. Don’t trade away your draft picks, especially your 1st and 2nd rounders.

3. Don’t fast track anything, be process based. Shortcuts seldom work.

4. Rochester is about development, not winning. If winning comes with it, cool.

5. Don’t look for permanent solutions for your team’s problems in UFA.

6. When you think you have enough good forwards in the system add like 5 more.

7. Let your analytics department build your defense corp.

8. Keep drafting goalies, don’t assume Levi or Portillo

9. Give Ryan Miller a job because it makes me feel good.

Yes they have a lot of nice LD prospects, they don't have a lot of Natural RD prospects. Not every defenseman can play there opposite side

Expecting all those draft picks to turn into those type of players is playing with fire.

Tuch when healthy is a good 2nd line winger, but this team is still lacking a lot of talent to be able to compete with the Boston, Tampa, Washington, Islanders, etc.

They are going to have to make a few key trades and signings of real NHL players.

Can they develop those draft picks? Their track record isn't very good. Also their skill at drafting good players is shaky as well. I sure hope they can turn it around.

Tuch might be Dumont like but I don't think Asplund is there yet, people tend to forget (not saying you are) that Hecht was so good defensively he was a big reason Briere was able to focus strictly on offense.

I'd consider moving all 3 first rounders for a top 3 , if we're not picking top 3. Say we finish with the 8th pick.

8th
23rd florida
26th vegas

Tuch could be dumont , but we need Drury, briere and vanek.

Is this a feasible trade? I imagine #1 wright would be off limits.
