It's a young defense. Half (Peeke; Bean; Boqvist) of the top-6 barely have any NHL experience. Defense takes longer, but when given the TOI they'll be stepping up.

I think Jarmo was pretty sharp this past summer in getting two young, solid D prospects - Boqvist in the Jones trade, and Bean with the 2nd round pick he got in the trade.

Be patient - give them some time. If they would be like Makar or Fox that would be great, but not just yet. Maybe soon.

Defense is a premium in this league, I'm patient with Boqvist who is clearly a great puck mover, Bean has been a fit in , but that bottom 3rd pair has been a Russian roulette between , Kukan, Harrington , Peeke. If the Jackets will compete for a playoff spot come the TD that needs to be an area that is shored up, our center depth can wait, the emergence of Sillinger is making me breath better.
