Ek what is the maximum desperation score? 100? Or when you say Vancouver is 54:87 is that out of like 60 minutes. Or is 65 the max because of overtime?
Also how do these scores compare to previous years. You said you developed these factors years ago so just curious if 54:87 is higher or lower than last year. I can't remember, but who was the most desperate team last year? |

Chicago #1 - BeadyEyedDouche
He's going to say NYI is most desperate. But whoever it is, they should just get MAF and Dubnyk to solidify things in goal. Malkin is available. So is Gallagher, Gaudreau, and if anyone needs a 3C Marcus Johansson is a sneaky good option. So lots of ways to lower your desperation quotient factors. |

Why would the Isles trade for a goalie? It’s the only thing they definitely don’t need |

And there’s no way the Islanders aren’t #1. They had super high expectations. A brand new arena. And the window could be closing fast |

I can agree with Vegas, Colorado and Vancouver. Not sure what other teams are doing on that list. |

Well it will probably cost Sorkin to get Malkin.
MAF is a multi'Cup winner so he has pedigree.
Dubnyk isn't just about adding a 1b, but since there are numerous teams after him then part of the appeal is making sure your opponents can't get him. Lou thinks like that. |

What is this exactly? If we’re talking desperation, I think Eklund trying to come up with content wins the most desperate award. This series of blogs is a swing and a miss. |

You have to go back a few days and read about all the factors and subfactors. Then it all makes perfect sense. I bet NYI is like 56:93 or something crazy like that. |

No matter what EK writes, Toronto is clearly the most DESPERATE team in the NHL. So many years since winning the Cup. Seeing an "inferior" Canadiens team go the FINALS last year makes their fan base unbearably anxious. Can you imagine the reaction to another early exit ( and heaven forbid another disappearing act by Matthews/Marner! ) ??
Maples Leafs are finally number 1 in something! |

Clearly you're not watching the same season.
We're not desperate. We're already planning our summer golf season. |

You did say earlier that Sakic would get in a bidding war with himself over Dubnyk. Sakic is driven and very competitive. A bidding war with his alter ego could escalate quickly. This smacks of desperation. Move Colorado from #7 to #1.

Maybe for the next article just combine it with the series on how each team can win the Cup. So NYI are super desperate and here is how they can turn that into winning the Cup. Two birds with one puck. |

Habs will be first of course.
This has got to be one of the dumbest series of blogs Ek has done…and with some of his past content that is quite an accomplishment. |

Not only are the Islanders the most desperate team to win the cup, Lamorillo just got more desperate with tonight's loss to Pittsburgh. Lou doesn't believe rules apply to him. I'm sure he's on his way to the NHL offices in Manhattan right now. Going in to fill out the paper work himself to shut down his team until none of his players are on Covid protocol, none of his players are injured and he's had time to aquire at least two 30 goal scorers and a shut down defenseman, all at half of the cap hit. |

Leafs fans are desperate. The team, not so much. The organization makes a ton of money. I am sure they want to win, it means even more money, but the organization is not desperate. |

Is that more or less desperate than young David Poile was to elude his pursuers? |

Young David Poile was very fleet of foot. He did so much running around the forum in the 60’s he could have easily ran a 4 minute mile. |
