Holy fuck, the list of excuses just keeps growing.
Makar is a much better defenseman because he knows how to play in all situations, not because of some point totals that some of you think is the only way to judge a player.
Ffs, - Reubenkincade
Makar is better all situations, but Hughes is better offensively. Put Hughes on Col and Makar on Canucks and I bet Hughes has a lot more points than he does now, will still have defensive issues, but would probably be a fair bit higher on that list than he is now. The team around you matters. |

Podz with a forward low of 10:46 last night. I thought he actually had some real good looks.

Are you confused on which player is which? - manvanfan
Huh? DeBrusk is an RFA after this year signed for ~$400k more. Resign him at that price (or lower) for 1-2 years to see if he's worth signing longer.
DeBrusk actually throws hits, no? Looking up stats Pearson throws a bit more, but I don't think I ever remember him throwing many? |

Jake DeBrusk is pretty much Boeser in terms of throwing hits but with less scoring even when Boeser is slumping.
I thought about DeBrusk change of scenery years ago and found out he is probably the softest forechecker in the league or at least near the bottom.
I'd go with free agent 900K-1.1M a year and wouldn't give up anything for him. |

His shot was one of the weak points when he was drafted. It's vastly improved. Don't see a lot of that net drive that was seen in the KHL but I'm guessing that's because the defenders are way better and the smaller ice surface.

Interesting. I was under the impression he threw his weight a bit more. Oh well.
I think/thought the Pearson signing was a bad contract when it was signed. If they could get out from under that, I'd be happy. One year of DeBrusk under a new coach might help him. If not, just opens up a spot. |

Agreed, he still looks strong driving up the wall though, definitely tougher to get to the net vs. NHL dmen. He will get there with time. |

I don't mind Pearson's contract. I don't like it but there are ones just as bad around the league.
I can't give JB flake for things a lot of other GM's do. |

Big win streak just started. Travis Green is going to be laughing at the media in a few weeks - "remember when you all thought I was getting fired after every game?" |

I would think their 1st rounder last draft is traded soon after the hiring. |

Doubtful. I could see them hiring her or someone like her for sure but in a lesser role. Player development or maybe even AGM. |

Pearson's contract is good for a 3rd liner. I would like to see a right handed centre for that line to switch with Richardy when needed. This team would be so much better if Green knew how to set lines that aren't white and powder. |

Jake Virtanen scores this morning.
Just seen he is also playing with Sergei Shirokov and now Canucks draft pick Dmitri Zlodeyev.
Virtanen's going to take him under his wing and teach him all about Van he said. |

If he is producing and playing as a good 3rd liner. Hard to tell right now on this poopty team.
I thought that Richardinson, Motte, Chaisson line had a good game last night. Previous night in Boston, they weren't as good but weren't bad.
As soon as they go down a goal, Green just panics and starts the blender immediately. Has no faith in his players. |

Ya possibly.
I am hoping Canucks end up getting Jennifer Botterill, who I think would be good in a player development role. |
