They only did part of the right thing. They’re going to mess it up all over again by jumping into a new Gm that has to speak French and is available mid season. It’s not going to end any better. Teams need to take time and run a full process to analyze their entire group and structure if they really want change.

I am hearing a ton of talk today regarding Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat. The Devils, Kings, Islanders, Wild and Canadiens are among the teams looking into one of the possible players..

A source tells me the Canucks will “follow suit after the Canadiens made changes, but will likely do so by moving players more than a change in management of coaching. Changes are coming..”

What would give up for Boeser or Horvat?

Canucks have a bunch of individuals that can't play together and trading away one of those individuals is somehow going to help the team start to play together?

I heard they played pretty well vs Clb. Was a good game last night.

If Motte scores on the short handed break away, if Richardinson puts one in on his breakaway. Might have been a different scoreline.

It's not nearly as bad as the prima donna's make it out to be lately.

1/ Elias Pettersson is an artist. His canvas is the ice, and his tools are a stick and puck. Artists can often be mercurial. They need inspiration, confidence, hunger.

Right now, we're seeing what happens to an artist when they lose those motivators. It can appear bleak

2/ In my humble opinion, the best way to help Pettersson regain his former self is to inspire him. To rouse that imagination from its slumber. To incite, motivate, & invigorate him

It appears that needs to come from a fundamental shift within the scope of the team and org

/3 And for those who say, "he has 7 million reasons to be inspired."

Sure, money is one thing, but it almost becomes another brick tied to your feet as you struggle to stay afloat. Added weight and pressure.

He needs positivity and energy. Joy. Camaraderie. optimism. Belief

/4 I stand by my belief that his talent has not been stolen by some aliens looking to win an intergalactic exhibition match. It's in there, waiting to resurface.

He will get back to his old ways. But he may need some help, some patience, some trust to get back there.
